This particular branch of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, the 26th St. Bistro in BGC, is an absolute gem and, without exaggeration, deserves a perfect five-star rating. It completely transcends the typical coffee shop experience, offering an elevated atmosphere and quality that makes it an ideal spot for everything from casual meetings to a focused work session or a relaxing weekend brunch. The moment you step inside, the ambiance is immediately welcoming and refined. The interior design is modern, clean, and incredibly comfortable, with a high ceiling that creates an open, spacious feel even when the tables are full. Unlike many cafes that feel cramped or loud, the bistro manages to maintain a pleasant, low-key buzz that encourages both productivity and conversation. It’s an aesthetically pleasing space that significantly enhances the entire dining experience. The food and beverage menu is equally superb. Their signature coffees and teas are, as always, of the highest quality, but the Bistro-exclusive food selection is where they truly shine. The offerings go far beyond pastries, featuring delicious, well-plated dishes—from their all-day breakfast options to their pasta and mains. Every item I've tried has been fresh, flavorful, and presented beautifully. What truly seals the five-star rating, however, is the consistency of the service. The staff here are exceptionally attentive, professional, and friendly. They manage to be efficient without being intrusive, ensuring orders are correct and tables are cleared promptly. They embody what excellent customer service should be, making every visit a genuinely pleasant one. The only minor asterisk on this stellar review is a familiar BGC refrain: the lack of easily accessible parking. It is a pain point for drivers, and one has to rely on the building’s or nearby parking lots, which can be expensive and time-consuming. However, the quality of the coffee, the food, and the service inside this bistro is so consistently high that it makes the parking inconvenience completely worth tolerating. It remains my top choice in the area and a faultless experience otherwise. Highly, highly...
Read moreAs soon as we arrived, no one accommodated us—no greeting, no offer of a seat, not even a menu. We only got the menu after we approached the staff ourselves. The place was nice, but the poor service really ruined the experience.
The food was okay, but the portions were too small and quite expensive for what we got. Service-wise, it was very disappointing. No one approached us even when we were raising our hands for attention. When we were trying to order, it took a while for anyone to notice us because the staff were busy chatting among themselves.
When someone finally took our order, the girl didn’t even write it down and seemed uninterested. I assumed she had memorized it, but when the food arrived, we received a cheese pizza instead of the pepperoni we ordered.
There were no utensils provided either—we had to get them ourselves from the counter because the waitress was too lazy to bring them.
What’s even more frustrating is that we were charged a 5% service fee—yet the service we received was far from acceptable.
Service really affects a customer’s experience, and if you want customers to come back, they should feel welcomed and valued. Even just smiling and being attentive goes a long way. The staff, especially the waitresses, should be trained properly on how to serve and interact...
Read moreIt was the morning of Nov 23 '19 when I decided to take my breakfast here. I ordered their breakfast platter. I wasn't expecting that this is not your usual CBTL. They assist and wait for you at the table.
All breakfast items (except for those under rosti) have complementary tea or coffee (i think this is more tha 12oz). Their coffee is excellent, if you need a good morning kick this is the place to go. You can request for hot milk and sugar if you want. For those with sweet tooth, you might need more than 8 sachets (3g×8) worth of brown sugar to lessen the bitterness.
Their breakfast platter is good. Their butter is cold-hard so smother them in your toast once you plate arrives. Their knife is a bit pointed so it's a bit of a hassle to put jam on your toast. I suggest you just dip it in the jam. If you don't like pesto, tell them because they serve the pesto on a tomato and the juice tends to mix and leak to your food. The onion omelete is satisfying.
The table near the walls is the best place to take your meal. The seat is soft and comfy, and they don't mind if your alone taking up space for six people.
This may be a good place to sit and have a quick talk with a colleague over coffee and laptops as their tables are quite spacious. They do not have power outlets so do not...
