semi professional reviewer here for the BGC area; this place is not worth your time or money!!! If you’re looking for burgers in the area, check out Raging Bull burgers. You’ll be much more satisfied, only a quick walk away and highly rated!
Right off the bat this place is not looking to impress you, that is for sure. Everything needs to be cleaned here. Starting with the menu, that thing has grease stains all over it. Everything else seems to glisten in the wrong ways too like the glasses. Seats are worn down, they actually look disgusting and are a health concern.
Things on then menu are ala carte even though the menu pictures lead you to believe items like fries come with the burgers.
If you try to order things on the menu they just don’t carry them. I tried ordering a milkshake and they said “we don’t have that”. Ok, but your menu does. So how about you get updated menus. That way they won’t have grease stains all over then because they’ll be new.
The food- it’s alright. Not to die for. Portions are extremely small. The fries are enough to stick in your eyes. High prices, even for the area. Things are ala carte. They don’t have any foods you can’t find better somewhere else nearby.
The staff& service- needs improvement. They don’t refill your waters. They’re not very friendly. I’ve had two experiences here; one they were trying to turn me away before I could get in the door to dine in. They directed me out saying “take out only” or something like that so no dine in- ok, so you’re basically closed. They have nothing designating there times they do dine in or take out. After further thinking on my second visit, I think they tell customers they’re closed in the last hour that they’re open. Which is completely wrong and an automatic 1 star in my book. You want business, or your don’t. There is no intermediate phase that you can adopt. The table next to me got the incorrect order. The server just ignored the customer when they brought...
Read moreAfter the last renovation they did, I was expecting a bit of improvement on the food and smoke problem but it was even worse. I go here 2-3 times a year only and each time I have the same problems and no improvement.
1- Their open kitchen idea s not working. You can’t clearly see anyways what happening there since it is high but bc their range hood is not enough to eliminate the smoke thus the whole resto is covered in smoke always. They need to either cover the whole kitchen or add more smoke eliminators inside the dining area.
2- Chicken burgers are a failure. Over fried and from the way it looked like all 4 sliders of nashville spicy chicken burgers were more of a breading and tiny slice of a chicken inside. I understand it is supposed to be small bc it is a slider but it doesnt mean it should be 80% breading, 20% chicken as seen in the picture.
3- Buns: they used to have better buns but seems like either they lost track of their supply chain or they changed supplier. Bum was dry and old, like the ones u can buy from grocery stores.
4- Fries: Cold, hard, rubbery. It was like a day old mcdonalds fries the moment it was served on the table. 20 mins of waiting for the food and you’d expect for a freshly cooked food but seemed like the fries were from a couple hours ago. Say it is unavailable atm if you can’t catch up with orders but do not serve cold and rubbery fries to customers, bc I don’t think I ll be craving for pounds next time I wanna have burgers and fries.
Also please either out a real menu or stay on track of online ordering system you have on the tables. It is the second time our bill was mixed bc someone added their order on our table number. It wad fixed after two instructions but it is an inconvenience still.
I hope you can improve the overall food quality and dining experience as I would want to have more...
Read morePOUND, along High Street is one of those comfort places you would like to visit frequently. Unpretentious, good, tasty, value for money food, coupled with quick, efficient, friendly service.
I like bringing friends to POUND. We all leave with full bellies without gouging out the wallet. The interior is gothic-vaulted interior. Refreshing.change from the brightly-lit, pastelish interiors of other joints.
Once seated, service is at hand and once you order, it takes mere minutes for your food to arrive. They have an outside seating area too, which works for us, as we always have our canine friend along.
They run specials here, good, value for money treats that's sure to satisfy. They offer Dollar sliders, pasta, fries and milkshakes (yes, the all time accompaniment to burgers!) and onion rings - all done right.
The fries have been properly blanched beforehand so they come out nice and crisp. The slider is enough to satiate one's hunger pangs, tender, juicy, delicious burger party encased in a good quality bun.
The creamy tomato pasta is simply likeable - I always finish two orders mahself! Its well prepared and is brought quick to the table.
The milkshakes come in vanilla and chocolate, and well, you just gotta try both. Delish is the word to describe it.
Service is tops here as they're quick and efficient to attend to one's needs. Cheerful Keren and Jeff along with the rest never fails to put on a smile. Nothing better than to see bright, smiling faces from the staff.
Our doggie always gets a bowl of iced water, pronto! And we feel welcome everytime we visit. Overall, this is a place you'll like and remember...
