d the counter. Employee or perhaps son of owner. Ah, Philippines. I ordered from an older man behind the counter. He was polite. I sat at a table. Immediately there was raucous cheering from a kind of balcony upper level above the dining room. A group of maybe ten was apparently playing some kind of game. Loud, rude, boisterous, and a yelling chant every minute or two. Most diners were looking up and shaking their heads. A Japanese couple next to me were quite offended. The older man behind the counter certainly noticed all of this but didn’t seem to do anything to quiet the group down. It was exactly what one would expect from some juvenile sports bar where everyone was drunk and watching a game. The food arrived and was ok. I paid and left. Would I gamble in a return visit? No. Too many alternatives. Remember when you come here that Filipinos are world famous for being LOUD and they are oblivious to the annoyed people around them. I like this diner environment. The food was reasonably priced. And not bad food. But there seems to be some kind of attitude prevailing in this place. Too bad. I probably would have eaten there several times per week. UPDATE March 9, 2024: Back for another try. No staff issues, everybody nice and polite. Atmosphere is nice, old 1950's style diner, which I like. I had pancakes and eggs. Second egg was extra charge (!). And half a hot dog. No drink. Price was normal BGC (over-priced). Pancakes (2) were positively child-sized, and dry, like they had been cooked three hours ago, then maybe microwaved. There was enough butter for half of one pancake and syrup for 1/3 of one pancake. Eggs were the smallest chicken eggs I had ever seen. I sat there with two cameras and was so ticked off I didn't think to take any pics. This is last time for me. Positively. Never again. Never again. The atmosphere got a star from me last time. Now that star is deduced for the terrible food. Tried to pay through the QR code on the table but it had to verify my number before it would accept. It wouldn't accept my non-Phil number. Truly I am 107% done. Two tries, two bad experiences. Done and gone and a...
Read moreSo I was really looking forward to trying this place, and the menu items looked great.
Here are the reasons I had to give this cool looking place only 2 stars.
Unfortunately, the problem started once we arrived and were ignored by all staff until I had to interrupt someone to seat us.
The servers were very nice and the place looked reasonably clean apart from all the dirty glasses on the counter top which just kept piling up (see pic)
We had to remind the staff for water a couple of times, but nothing happened so I went up to the bar and grabbed my own until someone noticed and helped out.
My steak was not medium (see pic) it was chewy and over done. I mentioned this to the waitress who apologies and took it away only to return to tell me that it was medium and I was wrong. I guess the customer isn't always right lol. I gave in because I was so hungry.
My wife ordered chicken with mash + gravy (see pic). No gravy and the potatoes were cold. We asked them to heat it up (took a few reminders and follow ups from us before it arrived. The mash was bland and no gravy was provided (further wait). By this time, the chicken was cold - sigh!.
Conclusion: The place is child friendly, the staff are nice, but they need further training in cooking steaks, the servers need to be aware of their surroundings, follow up on things, be attentive to their customers and clear up dirty glasses. For the price you pay, you expect a little more. Btw the milkshake...

We ordered dippy eggs with scallion prata for our appetizers and truffle mushroom pasta and miso salmon rice bowl for our mains. We paired it with strawberry iced tea and hot salted vanilla latte which was recommended to us by our server.
The appetizer, the dippy egg is a must try. A lot of things going on: savory from the jam bacon bits, runny texture from the eggs, the scallion added some texture. The prata was flaky and chewy at the same time. It was a definitely a play on flavors and texture.
The truffle mushroom pasta was supposed to be oil based but it became creamy because of the added yolk. The truffle taste was pronounced, it was very earthy and savory. They didn't skimp on truffle and gave us generous amount of it.
The salmon miso rice bowl was a bit let down as the salmon itself was a bit dry but the miso flavors were on point. The pickled veggies complement the dish and I suggest mixing it all in one bite.
The salted vanilla latte has great kick of espresso. A little strong on the salted vanilla to my liking. The strawberry iced tea was good, and I love the coconut jelly with it.
The service was top-notch, they were all very attentive. Great service from...
