Tonkotsu Ramen with chef's recommended toppings (Php 730 + SC) - Ordered the ramen with chef's reco toppings (egg, nori, garlic) cos I thought ok must be good cos chef reco and I love garlic BUT this was too garlicky. Too much so that it overpowered the dish. I didn't even finish my bowl. I would reco you just order no toppings and add what you like accordingly.
Aburasoba ramen with chef's reco toppings (Php 655 + SC) - The vinegar you mix in really enhances the dish, make sure you add it in. The bamboo shots were too overpowering, we set ig aside and thought it's better with less of it in.
Crab bun (Php 350 + SC) - This was good and very malasa talaga the aligue sauce. My partner and I shared 1 bun and that seemed correct since very tasty, yes, but nakakaumay even with half.
Soft serve milk ice cream (Php 305 + SC) - You can mix n match the shell topping and the sauce. We chose matcha shell and salted caramel sauce. Presentation was A+ since the server will pour shell sauce upon serving so you see it harden lol haha. Other sauce flavors were white chocolate and strawberry. This was pretty good but a mano burrata gelato is way better imho hehe
Dubai mochi (Php 280 + SC) This is part of their offering for the partnership with Nouel Catis. This was the best dish during our visit, sarap! It was a cute-sized mochi so get 1 each. It had kadayif, pistachio bits and chocolate inside. Served cold too. Very solid!
We bought some Snap dark choco pistachio bars onsite too (Php 650 per 90g). Part of the partnership offering with Nouel Catis too. Highly recommend to try.
Overall the pistachio chocolate desserts were the highlight of our visit. The noodle dish and carb bun were flavorful but too nakakumay.
Service could be improved too. We visited almost 4pm yet took 20+ mins to get any dish out. It sucked too that the diner who arrived later than us got her food first. Not sure why so but quite disappointing given it's lean hours and parang first order should be served out first lalo na if same dish. They said sorry naman when I asked why ganun then told me to wait for a few minutes more lol haha.
Overall a bit pricey at Php 1,250 per head excluding takeout chocolate bars, and excluding drinks. We'd go back if ever for the pistachio chocolate...
Read moreNearing 12 PM, we entered Ramen Ron at Central Square. There was still ample space, and we got outside seats for two. Half an hour later, Ramen Ron is typically brimming with customers. The aesthetic is clean, minimalistic and wood carved - offering a comfortable and established presence. Sifting through the menu, I couldn’t help but notice how fun and amusing it was. The abundance of unique ramen was on full display with tutorials on how to indulge. We placed our orders amidst the attentive staff, and it soon arrived less than 10 minutes later. We were also able to receive our check and receipt really quickly. Our ramens were simply presented (in a good way) and filling. The Ukokkei Miso Ramen had four thinly sliced chasu pork brimming with belly. The Tantamen was advertised to be spicy, but it’s a barely noticeable kick - more indelible to the rich flavour itself. Alongside the Tantamen, both exhibited delectably chewy noodles. Even though these ramens could have been oily, they never left a bad aftertaste, as the broths soothed my soul. The dishes reminded me of a comforting meal, bonding a Japanese flair with local sensibilities. Additionally, we took a RR Pork Bun to go in a nifty paper bag. It was really good. Despite being on the pricier side (P220 for the bun, P515 for the ukokkei ramen, P540 for the tantamen), they are justifiable tasty~ I definitely recommend stopping by Ramen Ron for its delicious Japanese food acquainted to Filipino taste buds, efficient service as well as the...
Read moreservice was a bit slow, we ate here on a saturday just before dinner peak hours. nonetheless, food was great and we were seated just a few minutes from queuing.
i’ve wanted to try ramen ron for some time after the renovation and i’ve finally done so. we had the mushroom (this is what i’m ordering for next time), tantanmen, and hiyashi goma ramen.
mushroom was flavorful, despite being meatless the broth was really tasty. the tantanmen is also good and has a full bodied broth, though i’ve never really been a fan of tantanmen in general. the hiyashi goma ramen sounded new to me, so that’s what i really ordered but it reminded me of a sesame soy salad in ramen form.
the mochi milk was what i was really anticipating and it was good!!! i was thinking what it tasted like and it made me excited when a friend of mine pointed out it was like haw haw (the milk candy) and it was a good chew and consistency of mochi. next time i’d want to try other flavors.
they also have really nice merch i’ll look into for my next visit.
-edit-
came back here a week later to enjoy more food and got to try all the mochi flavors, thanks to sir dex for the mango. the mango was a stand out and one of their newer mochi flavors.
like my first dine in experience, the broths were still just as flavorful. we got to try the ukokkei miso chashu ramen with a bit of heat, the broth to this is more on the garlicky side and combines well...
