Decided to try Scout's Honor after reading positive reviews on it online. The restaurant isn't busy when we came so we just went through the door and the staff ushered us where to sit. They gave us a bottle of (room temperature) service water and a small bowl of their "chips" (which I think is just those piso each Kiss or Bangus lol) for us to eat while we peruse their menu.
Ordered the Scoutmaster's Buttermilk Chicken and Andouilli Bolognese for our meal, Spanish Latte and Iced Americano for our drinks, and a slice of Tablea Yema for our dessert.
The chicken tasted just right, not too salty nor peppery. Not too crunchy on the breading. The accompanying honey dip isn't too sweet and is a nice combination with the chicken. It is boneless and at first glance you'd thought it's a piece of porkchop. The Java rice is delicious.
The coffee came with a small piece of cookie which tastes nice, I think you can buy a tu of it from them. Anyway, the coffee itself is alright, not bitter, I like it.
Lastly the Tablea Yema is a nice ending to our meal, chocolatey and sweet. They didn't skimp on the "filling". A slice shared between two people is just right.
Overall I think Scout's Honor is one of those restaurants that are "just right". If you are looking for comfort and "familiar" food but with a little dash of adventure then you have come to the right place. Looking forward try their other dishes...
Read moreFood was good but it was served on a cold plate. I don’t mean that they didn’t warm the plate prior, I mean the plate was literally cold, felt like it came from the fridge or a really air conditioned place. It was so cold that the food also got cold. So the top of our food was hot, as it should be, but the portion that was touching the plate was straight up cold. The staff was also difficult to talk to, it seemed like they were all confused. We chose to eat here because this is one of the most pet friendly restaurants we could think of, there’s even a sign on their door that says they’re pet friendly yet when I asked for a table and I mentioned we had a dog with us, they acted really confused, like they were visibly distressed because they didn’t know what to do, it took three people just to seat us. Then as we were ordering, it also seemed like they didn’t know things about their menu, just very basic things like the ingredients in the dishes. Then when our table was being cleared, our server didn’t know how to situate our plates on his arms, he picked up 2 dishes then looked at his hands all full and seemed confused about how he can carry the other dishes. They were all polite but then being so confused made the whole...
Read moreWent back during my vacation in the Philippines ordered 4 meals which includes Japanese Pancake for my partner, ended up us having our meals and he hasn't got anything, followed up and staff informed us that they just need 5 more minutes but even after 5 minutes we still have not received his order. While I was eating the 1st buttermilk chicken, I found curly hair strand from the chicken (surely between the batter and chicken) not just 1 but 2 strands, kind enough to show the manager but manager Marqui (lady) refused to accept it insisting that it could be hair from the green beans told her nope we didn't got it from there but from the Chicken. Her apologies, doesn't look sincere as she may want to push for the idea of hair that it must have come from greenbeans despite I told her off its not the case. Also told her bout our orders and it's not good enough to just wait and not been informed bout serving time when we all wanted to have our meals all at the same time. After few minutes they replaced chicken and the Japanese pancake finally arrived. Despite of passive, non apologetic apologies I have observed, I must say Andre on the other hand showed professionalism and confidence in his...
