Zielony Zakątek Restaurant — Restaurant in Gdansk

We went here twice during our visit to Gdansk: First time we sat down on the big terrace to enjoy the sun outside. Service was VERY slow, and we had to wait a long time before putting in an order for drinks. Even when I went to the bar, I was asked to return to my seat and wait for a waiter to take our order. The drinks were very good, tho - when they finally did arrive.

The second time we went here for food. Reminiscing bar food more than anything else, the selection was good, and so was the food itself. We had a seafood platter to share as a starter, and some polish cuisine for our mains. I’m happy to say service was excellent this time around, and our waiter was attentive...

Food was quite food, but it took more than an hour for us to get it, even the soup while the restaurant was not that busy. And when the food arrived they made several basic mistakes, for example I asked the sauce on the side and the whole dish was covered and soaked in sauce. And we asked in advance if the fish is just fillet or covered in anything, and they said it was without anything, just fillet - when it came it was fried in flour, not just fried as a fillet without anything like they said. I ordered bottled mineral water but was given a jug of probable tap water and was charged for mineral water. A 10% service charge was applied for although only a couple was eating. This was inappropriate and excessive and not deserved. The tomato soup was delicious but my cod was luke warm with very little hollandaise sauce. The Creme brûlée was disappointing and was more like creame caramel. The apple pie was not apple pie but really sponge cake with an apple and meringue topping. Choose...
