Novotel Gdańsk Centrum — Hotel in Gdansk

Stayed at the Novotel Gdańsk Centrum Hotel for one night and had a very good experience.||The hotel is located in the very heart of the city in Śródmieście - Centrum and is conveniently located and near to a lot of points of interest. The start of Gdańsk's Main Street - Długa and the Stare Miasto - Old Town - is approximately 5 minutes walk from the hotel entrance. ||I was recognised as an Accor ALL Gold member and given the proper Accor ALL Priority Welcome check in and I got a complimentary upgrade to a double room with a sofa upon check in as well as a complimentary late check out until 14:00. Also got a very tasty welcome drink, fine sparkling wine, the receptionist was very friendly and professional.||The room was very spacious and very clean. There was no visible damages or heavy signs of wear and tear and nothing that was broken. Kettle with complimentary instant coffee and tea in room. Big spacious working desk with comfortable working chair. No stationary in room. Huge stand alone "Phillips" brand flat screen TV. Unfortunately no casting possibilities with TV and smartphone via ChromeCast/MiraCast/AirPlay, etc. Flawless WiFi via the proper Accor portal, clear and strong consistent signal and high speed without any issues. Room tastefully decorated with modern design and clean and bright interior. ||Bathroom very spacious that was also very clean. Huge shower cabin without the slightest sign of not so much as a single drop of the very highly chalk concentrated water that is typical of the water supply in Gdańsk and this part of the Polish sea side to the Baltic Sea - which is a good indicator of how good the cleaning was. In the bathroom exclusive "Rituals..." brand toiletries from the "Ritual of Karma" collection with hand wash, body wash and shampoo.||As previously mentioned, very attentive, polite, friendly, approachable and professional staff through and through, starting from receptionist in the evening for check in, the bartender and the receptionist in the following morning for check out. It was noticeable that the the whole team was enjoying their jobs and were of experience, which made you as a guest feeling seen and projected a pleasant sense of peace and serenity which made me feel right at home and safe and in good hands.||In conclusion, I really enjoyed my stay at the Novotel Gdańsk Centrum Hotel and would definitely stay again and would definitely recommend. First of all, one of the most quiet rooms I've stayed in! My room was ready ahead of the checking in time, which was so lovely and timely after a long trip! It's a great value for money hotel and a great relaxing experience! I stayed over a casual Monday and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Had a great night's sleep, the bed was super comfy as the super soft linens and pillows! The "courtyard" has a big green garden and sit outdoor space which even more insulates from the rest of the city and gives a privacy feel for a staying guest. Comfortable access from the main street as well as parking lot space. Especially loved The Ritual of Karma by Rituals bath soaps and shampoos, good quality line and lovely smelling. Such a luxurious touch for the amenities. I like the eco friendly idea of amenities on demand, which was brought to my room with a smile with an extra vanity set I didn't even ask for. A personal cute touch. I appreciated the water carafes in the room and complimentary water machines across the floors and reception for you to fill it in. Not a big effort on my end but a big difference with reducing waste on the planet on a global scale. Enjoyed the wide range tea offerings in the room. If you have days where you love to stay close to everything downtown, yet as the same time away from crowds and busy pedestrian walks. This place is for you. Small gym, perfect for stretching or individual low impact training, totally empty and fully to myself which was great! Welcoming bright lobby and tons of space to sit and hang out in the recently refurbished area, which was undergoing renovation in summer 2022 I believe.

I didn't use the restaurant or breakfast options as I had other plans, but I'm looking forward to experiencing that when I come back soon.

Things to Improve cleanliness of the surfaces of the bed nightstands and desk, extra attention to the most frequent spilling areas will be appreciated. I believe this Novotel used to be a Hotel Orbis building beforehand, and so a general modernisation or freshening of the plumbing would be a huge advantage considering the first impression odor when you wash your hands in the sink. The occasional furniture chip or scuff marks on the walls below do catch the eye, so a fresh coat of paint to refresh that would bring a nice newness feel to it. Other than that overall again a great experience and sound night's sleep. Will be definitely coming back again.
