Restauracja Browar Mariacki — Restaurant in Katowice

A nice brewery and restaurant in well known street, Mariacki. Nice ambiance, I was lucky because I had chace to try their beers during a gentleman's great piano session. Witg sounds from piano ambiance is awesome.

Let's talk about beers:

(First of all there is a degustation plate for beers. Please ask for it! I strongly recommend.)

Pilsner type (the pils): it is a good example of czech style pilsner beer, the hops aroma little bit more than I used to. But it makes this beer fresh and different.

AIPA: one of the best IPA I have ever tried. As usual you can smell and taste the hops. It is bitter but balanced, and you can sense the citrus aroma in it. Quite good. Although I am not a IPA fan, if I come here again I will definitely have their IPA again.

Dark ale (stout) believe me this beer has body and also soul! 😍 It reminds Irish style ales. Rich and well caramelized. (maybe too much but is is awesome) You can taste the honey and milk like notes as aftertaste. Also it has noticeable notes and odors like coffee and chocolate aromas. It was fascinating!

Wheat beer: Mediocor, fresh and little bit bitter like citron. Banana note, end of the sip, also noticeable.

Double Wheat: Not bad, Sour like yeast cakes. Definately have more alcohol percentage than others. Complex but not in a good way.

So I strongly recommend their AİPA and stout beers. ...

I had a bad experience with this restaurant. I booked a table for 5 persons in this restaurant for the January 1st 2025. The reservation has been confirmed by the restaurant on 06.12.2024. After that I've checked several times the information about working days for the restaurant and found nothing. Moreover, I've received a message on the day of reservation that the restaurant is waiting for me. So we, five people during the cold weather of windy January 1st, went to the restaurant and found out that it's closed. So we had to search food for this day dinner because it was hard to find something not closed. After all of that I've wrote an e-mail to notice the restaurant about the problems with reservation to the address restauracja@browarmariacki.pl and had no any reaction. After that I described this situation in the contact form of the restaurant's site and I was ignored again. So, yeah, the food and beer in Browar Mariacki could be good and tasty but we weren't able to try it because the service of reservations is poor...

The beer here is very nice. I really enjoy their AIPA. The food is also very good. They have an interesting menu (interesting to me), but the food has always been very good. My only complaint would be it is difficult to flag down staff at times. They tend to get busy.

EDIT: Came back to katowice for business again.. this place was my favorite place until the last 2 visits. The service was non-existent and rude. We had to wait for 30+ mins to get a beer and the servers would get annoyed if we tried to flag them down. We took this in stride because it looked like they were understaffed that night. My last night here my coworkers and I sat down in an empty restaurant... And no one came to get our order. The server came over to the table next to us and took that tabel's empty plates and turned around and walked away without acknowledging us. I am very disappointed because I really like their beer and food... and I was looking forward to my last meal in Poland to be at Browar Mariacki. They need to work on...
