Basiliana Italian Bistro - Pizzeria Katowice — Restaurant in Katowice

We went to this restaurant based on the numerous positive reviews, and because it was close. The restaurant seemed to be quite appealing, but walking back after our dinner, and passing the many italian places we weren't sure we had picked the right place. The food was ok, our son's pasta was extremely salty, our one pasta was dry and the mentioned garlic, zucchini ,and parsley, almost didn't seem to be there. So out of 3 pastas 1 was ok.

The restaurant itself was nice but there was a horrible smell. Staff continued to smash the door when coming and going. Nobody came to check if everything was ok. There was no bread as we waited. And last but not least, and this was probably the worst thing..... There is no dry wine by the glass. Can you fathom n italian restaurant, a restaurant from the country which has hundreds if not thousands of dry wines in every colour, and not have a single one on offer?

So what is this place? A Polish restaurant with an italian theme..... But at least the beer from lidl is...

Exceptionally bad experience with food and the manager who do not care. Ordered a Crudo Caprese salad (27zl) twice with my friend who is a regular customer of this place. The salad had a horrible taste so we did not eat it. As we complained the manager shrugged her shoulders and offered 50% discount for the salads not eaten. We did not agree as the salad was untouched and inedible. The manager in the end gave us the two salads free after arguing with her and refusing to pay. The manager commented that she in fact did not care about us at all and walked away. Appalling. Avoid this place as they all make it so obvious they do not care about the customers and the food. Shame! So sad charging big prices for no customer service and food not...

The place is nice and the waiters are gentle, inclusive and efficient.

The food is good, however it is not real Italian cuisine, since it uses garlic and they actually leave the garlic in the dish…. No Italian does it! The garlic taste is usually put into the oil and then taken away… we don’t like eating/finding garlic pieces while eating!

The pizza is decent, but could be a bitter more juicy and less hard or too crispy.

White wine was okay.

Overall, not bad...
