Sphinx — Restaurant in Katowice

Although there is definitely potential due to friendly staff and a nice atmosphere, there were some basic flaws that would refrain me from coming back here.

The main issue is with timeliness, it took about an hour for us to receive our starter (which was just a quite greasy tray of fried things, which we received without any explanation what it was). Then while we were still eating from our starter we suddenly received our main courses and had to hand in our starter plates. The starter tray, partially filled, was then left on the table for the remainder of the evening. After our main dish was finished, we had to wait for an hour without any staff in sight to ask for our bill. I saw another table having the same problem, they had to walk over to the bar to get the staff's attention.

We weren't asked if we would like any extra drinks, desert, coffee, nothing. The meat - I had a tomahawk steak - was cooked quite unevenly, the core was raw (as ordered) but parts of it were almost well-done all the way through. They forgot the fries for one of our eaters and brought it separately on a plate, the waitress was unable to open our wine bottle and we received white wine glasses to go with our Rioja. At least they got the fries...

Not suggested from my side. Bad Meat, wait more than 1,5 hour. We came with 6 people. We ordered food and drinks at 8. We had a term at 10 for a event. After 1 hour we ask where is the food. They told us 10 min. other people on other desk already had food even as the came and ordered after us. After 20 min we ask again and get the same answer. 10 min. We get our food at 9:35 pm, means more than 1,5 hour after ordering. We ordered Angus steaks. The meat was tough. The ordered grill grad was also wrong. A other group we now was on a different Tabelle. The told us they ordered a small cake and wait over 1,5 hours for it too. They break up the waiting because the leave to the same event. We had luck because we came with a little bit stress. On time. No one of us was able to...

I have been to Sphinx many times since I like their food. However this time I had a very bad experience. Walked in and saw no one waiting one the guests. Walked to bar and girl said I could talk any seat. Sit down and wait. Looks like only one person talking orders. Girl behind bar sees me and brings menu. Wait again for 15 minutes and no one would take my order. Walk to bar to ask girl if their was service and she smiled. It appears to be a common issue that you can not get service at the location. Walked out and went somewhere else to eat dinner. Management needs to fix this issue before people give up on location. Looks like others had...
