Tucked away on Konopnickiej Street, a short stroll from Wawel Castle, lies a culinary gem that truly lives up to its name: Fala. This restaurant, whose name means "wave" in Polish, offers a refreshing dining experience that blends delicious food with a welcoming atmosphere and a fantastic view. I recently had the pleasure of dining here and was thoroughly impressed on all fronts. ​The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a stylish and modern interior. The design is clean and elegant, with earthy tones and subtle "wave-like" decor that create a sense of calm and sophistication. But the real showstopper is the view. Large windows open up to a beautiful panorama, with the iconic Forum Przestrzenie building serving as a stunning backdrop. It's the perfect setting for a romantic dinner or a relaxed evening with friends. ​The excellence of my experience wasn't limited to the aesthetics. The service was absolutely top-notch. From the moment I was seated, the staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. They were quick to offer recommendations , all while striking the perfect balance between professional and personable.

​As for the food, it was simply outstanding. I started with a classic Polish dish, Rosół, a flavorful chicken broth with delicious meat dumplings. The rich, homemade taste was incredibly comforting. For my main course, I opted for the bacon dish, which was served with an unexpected and delightful mix of pineapple, gochujang, tomato, and demi-glace. The combination of smoky, salty bacon with the sweet and spicy sauce was a revelation. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors, showcasing a creative and skillful approach to classic ingredients. ​Fala is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. The combination of beautiful views, excellent service, and truly delicious food makes it a must-visit spot in Krakow. I left feeling completely satisfied and already planning...

Dzisiaj miałem nieprzyjemność być pierwszy i raczej ostatni raz w tej "restauracji". Dlaczego? Po podaniu przystawek na danie główne czekaliśmy grubo ponad godzinę w czasie, której zniknęła gdzieś obsługująca nas kelnerka. W jej miejscu pojawiła się nowa pani w stroju raczej odpowiednim dla pomocy kuchennej. Oczywiście beż żadnej informacji że teraz jest nowa osoba która nas obsługuje. Na moje pytanie gdzie jest poprzednia pani dowiedziałem się że poszła pakować katering. A pytałem nie bez powodu ponieważ zamówiłem dodatkowe wino, którego nie dostałem. Nowo obsługująca pani z rozbrajającą szczerością stwierdziła że nic na ten tema nie wie. To wszytko wydarzyło się tuż po tym jak podane zostały dania główne. Myślałem że tylko ja mam pech i mój stek jest zimny ale okazało się że pozostałe zamawiane przez kolegów też wystygły (uwaga nie mylę tego z obniżaniem temperatury po wysmażeniu kiedy mięsko odpoczywa). Do steku z kolegą mieliśmy dostać polecany majonez. Nie dotarł a na pytanie co się stało dowiedzieliśmy się że nie ma. Wydawać by się mogło że gorzej już nie będzie. I tu zaskoczenie. Na przyjęcie zamówienia deserów kolejne oczekiwanie przy pustym stole około 20-25 minut. Kiedy udało się w końcu zaprosić panią do przyjęcia zamówień na desery to po kolejnych 10-15 minutach dowiedzieliśmy się nie ma tiramisu i kuchnia może nam podać krem brulee. Kilka osób powiedziało mocno zniesmaczonych no to nich będzie. I tu pytanie: ile można czekać na deser? A no kolejne 15-20 minut po tym jak kawa czy inne napoje wjechały na stół. Podsumowując, jedzenie przeciętne a obsługa poniżej jakichkolwiek standardów dla lokalu chcącego nosić miano restauracji. Obsługa gości powinna przypomnieć sobie podstawy tj. np z której strony gościa podaje się dania. A gdyby chciała się wznieść na wyżyny (co gdzie indziej jest standardem) po podaniu dania głównego należałoby zapytać gości czy wszystko jest ok? Na koniec ostatnia uwaga. Rachunek płaciliśmy trzeciej osobie obsługującej nas. Gdy zapytałem czy mogę porozmawiać z managerem zmiany lub kimś z kierownictwa dowiedziałem się że nikogo nie ma bo są w kościele ....... hmmm ..... a poprzednia pani mówiła że koleżanka zniknęła do pakowania kateringu. I nie napisałbym tej opinii gdyby nie fakt, że 9 pozostałych osób które były na tej feralnej kolacji było co najmniej tak zniesmaczonych i...
