TLDR Very good expensive food, if you like suprize wasabi. Count your pieces, expect 1,5h prep time when there's more than 8 people in the restaurent and accept responsibility for your, and their, mistakes. Spare efforts to mitigate.
Nice looking place with a relaxing atmosphere. Expensive for a polish establishment but so is most high dining. Due to cultural, food errors and language barriers, mistakes were made. This happens but require proper handling, especially in high dining, as that's the reason for the premium.
The food took about 1.5h for it all to arrive and we were compensated with a round of free sodas/wine which were a good solution to us. One of our guests didn't get his compensation soda before Asking a third time, 30 min after the rest of us got ours. We generally felt forgotten even though there were only 4-6 other guests visible to us.
Wasabi is randomly put in the rolls which were problematic as most of us dislike wasabi and thought we were chosing rolls without. Its not written in the menus.
One order was 6 pieces short and a count of pieces resulted in some guests eating other guests sushi as they didn't arrive at the same time and we, at this point, didn't trust the waitress instructions and tried to identify the plates ourselves.
In order to remidy they were willing to strike 10 pices of the wasabi-sushi and provide 10% discount on a 32 piece menu. Blame was primarily put on the guests and appetite was lost. We payed what they asked and said we were unhappy with the mitigation, which prompted no further mitigation attempts.
This resulted in 50 something pieces being left due to the conflict and wasabi surprises killing the appetite.
I believe that other guests have had a great time here but we didn't, not due to the errors, but due to the...
Read moreI’m completely new to the world of sushi (dragged into it only a few weeks ago) and found this place while trying to explore more spots in Kraków to get familiar with the taste and learn to appreciate the variety.
I started with the Ebi Tempura and Beef & Wagyu Gyoza. Both were absolutely delicious, though I’d give the edge to the Ebi Tempura, especially thanks to the mouthwatering spicy sauce that came with it!!
Next up was a set of three different sushi rolls, all of which blew me away!! I’m still learning the names (sorry!), but my favourite was the one with eel and shrimp. A close second was the roll with salmon and asparagus that felt so fresh and flavorful, I was genuinely amazed!!!
We were so full we couldn’t finish everything, so we asked the waiter to pack the leftovers and they did so kindly, with a great take-away bag.
As a total sushi beginner, I also needed help with chopsticks, and they even gave me a little tool to hold them together, such a thoughtful gesture!
The restroom was clean, and the overall interior of the restaurant was cozy and inviting and modern. I’m already planning to come back with friends since they have great seating options for larger groups too.
Highly recommended, especially for fellow sushi newcomers!...
Read moreI’ve recently had the pleasure of dining at Ima Sushi, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. The decor was simple but elegant, and the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
But of course, the real star of the show here is the sushi. Every piece was crafted with obvious skill and care, using only the freshest and highest-quality ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the prawn and A5 wagyu roll, which had just the right amount of heat and a wonderful combination of flavours.
What really impressed me about Ima Sushi, however, was the attention to detail. Every dish was presented beautifully, with artistic touches that showed a true passion for the art of sushi-making.
Overall, I would highly recommend Ima Sushi to anyone looking for an exceptional sushi dining experience. While the prices are a bit on the high side, the quality of the food and service make it well worth the investment. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings!
