Located only a few minutes' walk from the Radisson Red hotel and the Rondo Mogilskie tram station, this restaurant has an ideal location. Partner and I arrived close to closing time, but the staff were very happy to serve us. We ordered the Kotlet Chabowsky (Breaded Pork chop/Schnitzel) with mashed potatoes and Sauerkraut, the Placki Ziemniaczane (Potato pancake) with pork goulash and salads, as well as the Pierogi Ukrainskie (Dumplings) with potato and white cheese. The pork chop was amazing, with the breading giving just the most uniquely delicious flavour, while the sauerkraut, served with bits of pork in it, could have been served as a dish on its own. The potato pancakes were incredibly light and crunchy, while the dumplings being a perfect little bite to top it all off. Atmosphere is given 4 stars only because of the restaurant being close to closing, with staff doing some clean up nearby, which I can't blame anyone for wanting to get on top of that and go home but I'm sure had we arrived earlier, it would have been great, as the restaurant is very cozy and feels...
Read moreAfter visiting the Air Force museum we were a bit peckish and it was lunchtime. The downtown was some 8 tram stops away so I went on Maps for a nearby restaurant. Margit popped up and after looking at the pics we decided to give it a shot. It was a good decision. We wanted something Polish and man this place is Polish. As a Hungarian I felt very much at home, Margit has a lot of things in common with a very good Hungarian restaurant. But to be honest this one is better. The polishness of the place showed when we saw in the separate room a family celebrating the girl's confirmation. Next to 3 senior couples were enjoying their lunch. And we enjoyed ours. We had typical Polish soups (borscht and zurek) the missus had duck breast filet and I had a sirloin, rare. Both meats were cooked en pointe. The porcini sauce was a bit thick for my liking but on the whole everything was very good. The waiter spoke passable English and fluent German so Dank Gott wir könnten alles auf Deutsch bestellen. Pricewise it's like a downtown restaurant but this place is much...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant after our friends recommended it to us on their trip to Krakow. We were delighted with the warm and cosy atmosphere, service and totally delicious food. We ordered ribs, traditional żurek soup, beef tartare and schabowy (breaded pork cutlet). Everything was so flavourful and you could clearly tell it was freshly made to order! Portions were also very generous, thank you Chef! Our waitress Kinga was really friendly but professional at all times. She suggested we try some amazing desserts but we were so full that we unfortunately had to decline. Overall, we really had an amazing time and ate some fantastic food. We recommend it to everyone who wants to try delicious traditional polish cuisine and visit a place that feels cosy and has a lot of charm...
