We loved this place. The focaccia was brilliant, hot, perfectly-made, delicious. We ordered the gnocci with nduja and the lasagne, and we were blown away by how good both dishes were. We travel to Italy often and the food here tasted fresh and the ingredients were on point.

We went at 5:30pm and the restaurant was fairly busy, we were glad we made reservations. The restaurant itself has an easy vibe and is an enjoyable place to have an evening, there's a shop up front selling Italian ingredients which was fun to browse. The atmosphere wasn't stuffy and felt nice without being too overdone. The waitstaff smiled, were kind, and helped us when we needed — it was definitely better than the average restaurant experience here in town.

For most Italian restaurants I would make a qualification in the rating for "Inside of Italy" and "Outside of Italy" — giving a little mercy for the one's outside of Italy. However, this place doesn't need mercy. It's wonderful and definitely the best in town for Italian. The food here was amazing. I mean really really good! I can't stress enough that this place serves really excellent Italian food. The focaccia was amazing and my tagliatelle was absolutely delicious. My wife is vegetarian and had no problems finding something to eat. She also really enjoyed her meal.

The staff were rather rushed (owing to an earlier power cut) and forgetful. Because of the power outage, there wasn't a table ready for us, though we had a reservation. They could have called us to say they were running late but they didn't. When we arrived they could have taken our coats or offered us a drink, but they didn't. Our order wasn't immediately printed for the kitchen so a couple that was seated after we ordered received their food before us. We recently dined at La Bottega and it was truly an outstanding experience. You can immediately feel the strong influence of authentic Italian cuisine: dishes prepared with great care, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. The flavors are genuinely Italian, perfectly balanced, and truly memorable.

We tried several dishes, all of which were excellent: the tagliolini with porcini mushrooms and truffle, fragrant and full of flavor, are highly recommended; the tagliatelle with ragù, with a rich and well-made sauce, perfectly captured the tradition of Italian home cooking; and the caserecce with shrimp and zucchini, delicate yet full of taste, were the perfect way to complete our meal.
