Charlotte plac Zbawiciela — Restaurant in Warsaw

This was one of the worst places i've eaten at for several reasons. The food didn't taste good. The bread used was old and hard, filling had no flavour, cheese on top made me think that this was a sandwich that was made weeks ago, taken out of freezer and reheated in the microwave. The only redeeming quality of the dish was the basic salad that just tasted like salad, luckily that didn't taste old, and the egg that was just ok, but also had almost no flavour somehow ? Coffee was avarage, just tasted like basic coffee machine coffee but totally not worth the price it was for. For the same price you could get 2 bigger coffee cups at some coffee speciality place with atcually good coffee. Eclair was one of the strangest tasting eclairs that i've had and it was ridiciously small. The filling had formed a hard outer shell which is not a good sign. Again, overpriced for the small size and the bad flavour. But worst of all was the staff. It felt like I had entered teritory of some edgy, popular middle school kid teritory. When the staff wasn't bringing food to the customers or taking away half eaten food plates without asking if the customer has finished it, they where grouping up at the cash register and loudly making fun of the customers outside who can't hear them if they are not sitting indoors. When I asked about the food, because I wanted to know some things before I order, the gilr serving me just acted like I should not bother her and didn't answer the questions at all and made me hurry up with the order. I felt very uncomfortable in the presence of the staff working there. From wherte I sat I could see the kitchen and I wish I didn't look. It was filthy... Before eating there I was looking forward to the experience since I had heard that the place they have in a different city (Kraków) was really nice and they had this amazing breakfast option where you get given basket of different breads and few jars of chocolates, jams and stuff to put on it. It seems like they don't have it or don't have it anymore since the staff just pretended that they didn't understand my question...

Frankly, I can criticise all I like however I do drop by quite frequently so something must be working.

The service is chaotic - I gave up on the service long time ago and just grab a menu if I see one at a counter, or a table or whatever, and head back where I'm seated at. They will not acknowledge you so make sure you wave your hand high up the sky or just walk to them. They're not purposely inattentive, it just seems they lack training.

The menu offers a wide range of products. I've been going to Charlotte ever since I was 16 so I know the menu off by heart but I assume, it's not the type of menu that will overwhelm you. Absolute favourite? The bread basket with the spreads! Be sure to get their milk chocolate or white chocolate spread as well as their strawberry jam! Their spreads are definitely the highlight of the whole experience! You smir the spreads on your bread as much as you like, be as generous as you like! I don't think I know a place that offers that anywhere else.

Other than that, good bakery selection, average food but very hip hip location. I don't know how they do it but the atmosphere is what I come here for - pretty chilled out. I guess you can say that the atmosphere is pretty pleasant whilst you sip on their cheap wine, enjoy spoonfuls of their average food and not mind their chaotic waiters as they run around if you've already been served and received...

This was the first Charlotte I visited over 6 years ago, it was a little different then because you received whole jars of jams/chocolate spreads and the waitress asked which kind would you like. I was visiting Charlotte few times in Krakow as well but lately I try to avoid eating bread so this was kind of a sentimental visit. It was a Sunday morning, so I was expecting to stay in line but the weather was not so cold so we could sit outside with no waiting. We ordered 2 breakfasts, pate and cheese platter so I had enough bread for half a year 🙂 We got 2 raspberry jams and 2 white chocolate cream which is a nice combination but it would have been nice if the waitress ask if we want to try something else, I was happy to see salted caramel. Overall the food was nice as always, pate was lovely. I'm thinking to just get a jar of salted caramel and have it at home 😋 The place is always busy - the price of the breakfast is extremely good - especially that coffe is included. So it is understandable that waiters will be overworked and have no time to ask, rather just try to serve as quickly as possible. She really tried, it was obvious. I will always have the old Charlotte in my memories and still nice to stop by. And the spreads are still amazing, they also make...
