We visited Forno Powiśle with high hopes, drawn by the appealing look of the pizzas and the inviting atmosphere. The service was friendly — the staff were polite and helpful, even if they occasionally seemed a bit nervous when it came to handling payments. Still, they remained kind and professional, which we appreciated.
The biggest downside, however, was the wait time. We placed our order at 19:15 and only received our pizzas around 19:58. When we politely asked about the delay, we were given the usual “we’re busy” explanation. This would have been more understandable if the restaurant had been packed, but it wasn’t. What made it even more frustrating was that several tables who arrived after us, placed their orders later, got their pizzas, finished eating, and paid — all before we were served. That felt like a joke, to be honest.
As for the food itself — both pizzas were tasty. One was topped with prosciutto, arugula, cherry tomatoes, and shaved Parmesan (as shown in the first image), and the other was a spicy salami pizza (second image). The flavors were good, ingredients fresh, and presentation appetizing.
However, don’t expect authentic Neapolitan pizza. While the pizzas might look similar at first glance, the crust gives it away. Neapolitan pizza is known for its soft, airy, and slightly chewy crust with a distinct “leopard spotting” from a wood-fired oven. What we got had a much crunchier, firmer edge — more like a standard pizza oven result. It wasn’t bad at all, just not what you’d expect from a place named “Forno” (which typically suggests a wood-fired oven). That was a bit disappointing.
To sum up: Good pizza, nice staff, but poor kitchen organization and misleading expectations regarding the type of pizza...
Read moreNEVER AGAIN!!! Just go somewhere else. This is not even cost to Italian cuisine not mentioning the prices. I am adding here with this review photos of what we got when ordered goat cheese salad. The goat cheese was namely two slices of cheese and a lot of arugula. The bread we got was not even remotely close to Italian origin - just a regular Polish bread you can get for pennies in every store in Poland. We assessed the cost of ingredients around 8-9PLN while they charge you 40PLN for this. And in top of this I have never seen an Italian cuisine place that has no smell and this place had none - no garlic, no baking not even scent of olive oil. Also very akward that we got bread after having mentioned...
Read moreWe used to eat here often when it was Ave Pizza. Today was our first time at Forno since it opened and we are definitely coming back!! We only tried the pizza this time and it was really delicious! We’re so happy to find yet another good pizza place in Powisle. Can’t wait to come back and try other dishes on the menu as well as other pizzas. We saw someone having the shrimp pizza which looks delicious. We had a nduja and straciatella as well a funghi and salsicia. Both were delicious and fresh and the dough was just so light and delicious! Our server Mikolay was very attentive and helpful. Give it a try supporting...
