Coffee and tea are as good as anywhere. Hard to compare. Żurek served in bread with sausage and mushrooms (we asked for no eggs) was delicious. The soup tasted great, the taste of typical polish żurek, the bread it was served in was amazing. Pretoasted, we ate it all after see finished soup cause we could not resist. We ordered pierogi ruskie - with potatoes, cheese and onion. They were served with a side salad, which really suited them. The portion consisted of 8 pierogis, they were pretty big, a lot of filling inside them, tasted delicious. We ordered szarlotka - Apple pie, which again was amazing in taste. Cake was baked and made in great, polish style, apples mashed, all covered with powdered sugar. It is too pricey - 15 zł - for this cake as it is one of the cheapest from menu to make, however it's worth the price. One minus - we wanted it with ice cream, but unfortunately they run out of it. Service was good. We asked for double spoons etc cause we wanted to share both meals. No problem with that. We didn't wait long for the dishes to arrive. Would recommend to others and we suppose we will come back one day. Great atmosphere. Music. The owner shows himself from...
Read moreDidn't plan to go here as my usual place next door(Cud Miod) was super busy. I had heard of good reviews and several people had asked me the whereabouts of it so I figured it must be a good bet. Oh, how I was wrong. One thing I will say was the service was OK which isn't always easy to find in Warsaw. I started with the steak tartare which was OK, a small portion but it was a starter and was passable. By no means the best I've had, Paris or Brussels reserves that honour. I then moved on to the main, what they called Hunters stew. Well if the hunt was in a cabbage field and a supermarket then it would be accurate. Soggy, sour cabbage with a smattering of sliced up old processed hot dog sausage was what it tasted like. I'll give it a 3/10. I didn't finish it and didn't bother with desert I just wanted to leave the place. The glass of house wine was actually OK but not so sure I'd be keen to risk it again with the food. I can see why my regular was fully booked and why theses guys had covers available. A nice addition was the music and ambiance. OK service, average food and...
Read moreVery interesting looking establishment that conveys the times and history of radio free erurope. Quite unusual. The menu is a blend of polish cuisine like the liver with lemon and apples, crepes with spinach and pancakes. Overall good. But the quality to quantity ratio not great. I ordered the liver, and it was nice and interesting. But salty and only 4 peaces of liver for 40 zl. So quite expensive. And very salty mind you. The chicken soup was very well made and as I said before pastry good. That's it. But the service deserves a mention as well. Only one of the servers knew how to handle the recipes, so we had to wait. And next to our table was a piano. It got occupied by a patron? Or was he part of the staff? Who in rude way interrupted us that we need to move fot him to sit, and then wen he started mashing that poor instrument it was to loud to talk. And he did not make an effort to be considered of other patrons. Overall. Ok. But I don't think I'm...
