disappointed and dismayed: a lesson in how not to treat guests
visited the morning after (the night before) on a saturday evening with colleagues — we were in high spirits, expecting a relaxed, vibrant atmosphere. instead, we were greeted with something much colder: inflexibility, dismissiveness, and a general air of “we’re doing you a favor by letting you exist here.”
when a friend joined us mid-evening, we tried everything to find a way to include her — rearranging seating, offering rotation, even suggesting we split up. nothing. no effort, no curiosity, not even a hint of hospitality. just blank stares and dry “no’s,” as if empathy had been left off the menu that night.
the most striking part? the clear favoritism. it’s not subtle. if you “look the part,” you’re welcomed. if not, you’re made to feel like an intrusion. it’s less hospitality, more curated exclusivity — which might make sense in theory, but in practice just feels outdated and, frankly, exclusionary.
the drinks were fine, the space was cute — but no vibe in the world can make up for service that feels like a cold shoulder wrapped in irony. in a city full of warm, welcoming spots, this one stood out for all the wrong reasons.
we won’t be returning. and we’re not keeping...
Read moreWe came at 4pm, got a table which we were asked to free by 6pm, which is alright, as we had not reserved anything in advance. But we had to wait until 4.40 to be able to order any food as they don't cook anything from 4pm to 4.40pm. They could serve us drinks though. But their coffee was unpleasantly cold, RAF turned out to be too liquid than it is supposed to be. So we were basically drinking plain water for about an hour and a half. At around 5.30 we asked where was the main course, and it happened that they forgot about it, but there was no point to order it again as we had to free the table in half an hour already. So we spent two hours there, simply drinking water after a could-be-way-much-better coffee, and left hungry. By the way, waiters were constantly pouring more and more water in our glasses, which, at first, seemed to be a good service, until it got to happen extremely often even though our glasses stayed more than half full most of the time. Also, music was quite loud. Which is fine when the place is almost peopleless, but it was full, which, with loud music combined, made it difficult to conduct relaxed...
Read moreI liked your place in the past and recommended to all my friends. However yesterday I was disappointed, as it seems something in the staff policy changed, and service was poor.
Service: I've heard waitress were discussing client, I scroll to the reviews and saw similar customer complain from 2 month ago. another interesting observation, previously when I spoke in my native language it was ok for the staff, now they pretend that they did not understand it and just stared at me. I am ok that not everyone understand it, but instead of just staring, it would be nice to say something like 'I am sorry I am not fully understand what your are saying and I don't want to mixed up with your order could you switch to XYZ language' or to ask if I am ok if they are speaking XYZ, but not just stare at me and do nothing. Imagine the same happening with French customer, odd situation right? But I should admit only one girl (with blondish hair and bob haircut) was nice.
Food: I asked to do not fry slice of bread (it was included in the dish), and it turned out to be from yesterday. My bad I did not ask about it when...
