We decided to go there, illusioned by the nice logo and promising pictures on the outside advertisement brought a promise of tasty and affordable Polish dishes, mainly made with potatoes, cabbage, and meat. The first bell was rang when among all of the menu positions half has already finished even though it was only 18.00 and plenty of people were standing in a queue to make an order for dinner. However,we decided that it was a good sign as people actually eat there and ordered potatoe pancakes with spinach and cheese, which was supposed to be feta cheese, and potatoe pancakes with salmon. The format of the orders delivery is very strange and confusing - the numbers of orders are not consequent, the order is not delivered together but piece by piece, so between the first and the last dish on the order can be up to 15 min. When I have finally received my pancakes and took the first bit, I realised how bad everything was -they were cooked on the old burnt oil and were so fat that if you press on them the oil would flow down the plate. Cheese on the top was not feta at all but the cheapest low-quality cheese you can find in the local supermarkets, moreover, it was probably kept in the wrong conditions as it began to melt before it was grated. However, this was even halfway not as horrible as what my friend got - he ordered the same potatoe pancakes, but with salmon. After 17 (!!!) minutes of waiting he got completely burned black fat piece of potatoe with bad-looking piece of salmon, covered with ugly cut tomatoes and sprinkled with the same cheap low-quality cheese. We could not do anything but just show it to the chef who even refused to taste it and turned back the money. Overall impression - too...
Read moreThe food here was very good - and the service was practically instantaneous (we only had to wait for the dumplings and the placki ziemniaczane (Polish hash browns)). At 20-25 PLN for a full meal (soup, main meal and drink), this is a very good value restaurant.
The soups were very good (we tried the tomato, chicken and pumpkin soup). For the main course, we had dumplings, placki ziemniaczane and gołąbki (cabbage roll), all of which were very good.
Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who would like to have a good, polish meal at an affordable price, with a short...
Read moreThe food is generally good value. Simple straightforward fare. However, we used this place because it is a milk bar and we have a toddler who wanted some warm milk. The lady at the bar said this was not possible as they served cold milk only and no, they could not warm the milk in a microwave. After much persistence she eventually agreed to warm some milk but put it through the till as a coffee otherwise the computer would implode. The entire scenario was reminiscent of the David Walliams TV sketch - the...
