Ate here last night after seeing the menu and that they had a roof terrace hoping the food and views would be good. How we were wrong! Ordered calamari to start, it was dripping in oil, tasteless and the batter was so thick that even if it was tasty you could only manage a couple. Another ordered the paté to start, the bread came in plastic wrapping which was odd and the paté was in a foil pot, not freshly made! We then ordered mains, i ordered the monkfish and prawn kebab. After waiting a reasonable amount of time everyone's food arrived, apart from mine. I waited and waited and eventually asked where it was, to be told they forgot (no apology). In the meantime one of our party asked fer her food to be recooked as it was so dry (also the monkfish and prawns) they took hers to be redone. I waited about another 45 minutes for our food to come out and when it did it was raw! I complained and they said it was because i asked for it to be undercooked!!! I said that's not true and can they please cook it or I'll be seriously ill. They took it back and i waited another 20 minutes for it to come out. It was very underwhelming. Tasteless, boring, and still a little undercooked. The staff were so rude. No updates or checking on us or apologies whilst we waited. When we asked for the bill they offered us a port wine as a way of apology but none of us drink that, they made no further attempt to compensate for the terrible experience. When i went to pay for my share of the bill i spoke to the man taking payments and said i wasn't really happy paying €32 for such poor food and service and his response was "you ate it though didn't you!" Of course i ate it it was 11pm and i was starving!!! He was so unbelievably rude and unapologetic i was shocked. The whole experience ruined our last night in Albufiera and i would never return or...
Read moreBest restaurant in Albufeira Old Town – hands down!
I’m from the Netherlands and I’ve been to Albufeira a few times now, but this restaurant is by far my favorite spot. I’ve eaten here multiple times and every single time it’s been amazing. The fish is super fresh – caught that same day – and you really taste the difference. One night we had seabass that was just caught and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had.
But it’s not just the fish – the meat dishes are also seriously good. Everything’s full of flavor and made with care. And the prices? Really fair! I had a big, fresh piece of salmon for only €17.50, and a really nice quality bottle of wine for €20. That’s hard to find these days.
The vibe is super relaxed and authentic. It’s not one of those touristy places that tries to rush you out for the next group. The staff is kind, chill, and gives you all the time you need to enjoy your food and evening.
It’s a bit hidden – you go up a little staircase and end up on a cozy rooftop terrace – but totally worth finding. This place isn’t just dinner, it’s a full-on experience. If you’re in Albufeira and love good food, this is a must. Can’t wait...
Read moreMy husband and I ate here for lunch and the atmosphere was the best part for me. The outdoor patio has a great view overlooking the beach and has good canopy cover from the hot afternoon sun. The restaurant is a decent spot for Portuguese food in Old Town Albufeira.
We had the garlic shrimp as a starter, which were tasty, though slightly overcooked. I had the piri piri chicken for my main, which was good, but not what I was expecting. I can handle a medium amount of spice in food, but I was surprised when the chicken had no spice to it at all and seemed only mildly flavoured with the piri piri seasoning. The fries and chunky "salad" without dressing were unfortunately lack luster. I was hoping for a more traditional Portuguese experience. Though my husband had the grilled octopus, which he loved, so it's tough to say. Maybe stick to the seafood...
