I really hate to write this negative review.
I’ve been to this bar three times over the last week, with the first two times being in the evening solo.
I enjoyed the fish and chips the first night, very crispy and flaky, and the mushy peas and fries were on the mark as well. Lovely service from the blonde lady too.
The next night I had the beef and Guinness pie, again, quite tasty and reminded me of home (in a good way). Good service from the tall guy, he had a good sense of humour too.
Today though, I went for lunch with my wife.
It was AWFUL. My Guinness wasn’t poured properly and got me all sticky, the burger was just a semi warm slab of meat with a very underwhelming whole wheat bun (not even toasted), and my wife’s 3 Harp Special was on the COLD side of lukewarm. The chips tasted like they were reheated; nasty!
There were maybe one or two other customers there, and the chef didn’t even have the desire to properly prepare our food order.
I explained to the waitress (who I had never been served by before) how bad the food was, but that we had to go and we didn’t have time to wait around to complain because we had to work.
There was barely an apology, not even an offer or a discount. While I’m complaining the chef goes outside to smoke.
Horrible third experience; ruined the place for me. And now my wife thinks I was crazy for recommending this place to her to begin with.
I guess my recommendation would be to go in...
Read moreWe had our day 2 wedding party in the three harps and would recommend the venue for any couples also considering having a day 2 there. The venue is set up perfectly for a day 2 event and has a lively atmosphere with staff going above and beyond. Everything from accommodating any requests we had, helping with entertainment, the beautiful catering put on and the service of all the bar staff. We really felt special on the day and three harps deserves a shout out.
I’d like to especially call out Stephanie, who we met last November and from day 1 we have built a strong relationship with. Stephanie has been a pleasure to deal with and get to know, often providing us advice and guidance on what would work best for our day 2. Stephanie helped to organise making us feeling at ease with day 2 as we were fully engrossed in wedding planning.
As for last Saturday, Stephanie was a star. I believe she got to know every one of our guests and built a rapport with everyone. She helped created a party atmosphere which all our guests really enjoyed!
Three Harps is most definitely a pub which should be visited if spending time in Albuferia and for any couples considering a day 2 venue, I’d certainly recommend...
Read moreThe staff and singer are what makes this place. A brilliant night. The laughter and craic was high and there was an overall buzz in the place. For some reason the singer and bar staff started listening to a man who was complaining about the loudness of the music. It was awkward to watch as they took on what this man is saying who clearly didn't know what he was talking about. Turning down the music and watching this whining, grumbling man was embarrassing. The speakers weren't loud at all and was surprised to see the singer and bar staff listen to this clueless man. They handled him so well. Once the man made sure he cleared out the upstairs and put a dampner on the night.....he left. People had been there for hours asking for requests, but once this show happened all left and tumbleweeds took their place. I would go back as long as that man didn't. Only suggestion is the singer is employed to handle music and knew what he was doing, so don't listen to the disgruntled...
