Wonderful little restaurant just away from all the tourist trap restaurants in Albufeira Portugal. This restaurant Serves authentic Portuguese food. Lots of American style restaurants in the busier tourists areas if that’s your style. But we like to eat authentic local food when we travel and this place was awesome for us. The owner/waiter/bus boy does pretty much everything for you. A very quiet man, but so very friendly. I think we ate there at least three nights during our one week stay in that area. And at the end of every meal, he was so gracious by surfing us a small glass of port wine, which I am more than sure he made himself. It was so wonderful. His chef was also so friendly and we enjoyed her so much. The Peri Peri Chicken is perhaps the best I’ve ever had. My wife loved the Grilled Sea Bass. And the Cataplana de Peixe was amazing. We also managed to stop by later in the evening for a quiet glass of wine and reflect on our day in Albufeira and even then we were always treated like returning royalty. We loved Restaurante Ti Gracinda and would highly recommend it. Paul and...
Read moreTi Gracinda is in a little side-street off the main drag of the old town, but it's well worth discovering. It's a little family bistro-style restaurant that has been run by the founder for about 40 years. There's no annoying person in the street trying to drag you in, and it doesn't look much from the outside. However, on the inside it has a traditional look and feel. The staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Dishes are traditional and include locally caught fish in season as well as several other meat dishes. The food is delicious and expertly cooked to perfection and of generous portions. The biggest surprise is that such delicious food can be considerably cheaper than the many nearby restaurants competing for business. Try it. You won't be disappointed. We went back for more a couple of days later, and will be back a third time with some friends in a...
Read moreOrdered the pork filet with mushrooms. I asked if it came with vegetables and the waiter replied “Chips” which should have been a warning. When it arrived, the meat was swimming in sauce, which was bland but did have plenty of mushrooms. Unfortunately the two pieces of pork filet submerged in the mushroom sauce needed a saw to cut through. I tried to persevere but gave up after three bites. I asked for the bill and the waiter asked “No more?” I said I couldn’t as the meat was too tough to cut. He then told me I should have ordered the chicken.
I wasn’t expecting cordon bleu but I did expect it to be edible. Paid the full bill of €20,50 but it wasn’t worth a fiver. If chain pub grub is your food, this will suit you but otherwise...
