We were very disappointed with our meal here. We were seated at our table and then forgotten about.
We had to look up the menu on our phones. But after some time we were handed ripped menus with pages hanging out.
The staff seemed to be in a rush but the place wasn't busy.
After some time the waiter who was friendly enough came to take our order. We asked for a T-bone and a fillet steak with chips, the waiter told us that our steaks were part of the all you can eat and there were chips in the buffet and pointed to the main room and told us to work away.
The buffet section had no signs so you had no idea what you had in front of you, so anyone with food allergies beware! I should also mention that I couldn't find the chips the waiter had referred too. But there were some small cubes that looked like they were made from potatoes. My wife took what she thought was a potato croquette as it was next to the potato cubes, only to discover it was a banana covered in breadcrumbs when she cut into it!!
Our steaks took a while which I expected since I ordered the T-bone but when it came out it looked flat nothing like the photo on the menu.
I asked the waiter for chips and he said there were some on the buffet, I said I couldn't find any on the buffet to which he pointed out the cubes. I said we had asked for chips with our food and if they aren't in the buffet I would like to order some. To which he said he would get me some right away.
Thinking I only had a few minutes to wait for my chips I decided to start my steak. But I was missing a steak knife. So I tried to get a waiters attention to ask for a knife to no luck. I decided to wait and ask when the chips came and try using the butter knife since it wasn't very thick so wouldn't be hard to cut. Half way through my steak still no chips or sign of a waiter. Luckily a new customer came in and sat close so I was able to get the attention of the waiter when they came to look after them. It was the same waiter who promised me the chips. He did seem surprised I hadn't received the chips to which he ran off to find them while I was in mid sentence asking for a knife.
So chips came out and I was able to ask for a knife. But at this point my steak was cold.
Nobody came to ask us if we wanted a second drink or how was our meal, I had to stop them. Again it wasn't busy with plenty of empty seats around. We also noticed most other customers there seemed unimpressed with the food & service.
We just finished our meal and asked a passing waiter for the bill to which they then asked us if we wanted another drink.
I should have raised these issues with the waiter at the time but I did not want to argue as we are trying to enjoy our holiday.
So overall service was slow and only seemed interested in the people who had ordered the most expensive buffet selection of meats.
Our food was very disappointing meat seemed like cheap cuts. (But I will say the food on the skewers being carried around by the staff did look delicious)
Value for money. No both of our steaks cost just under €30 and neither of them were worth the cost.
I would...
Read moreWe came here during our visit in Albufeira and happend to be also our 1st wedding anniversary. I am very well familiar with rodizio concept, having worked as a waitress and “pasadora de carne” for 2 years in the same concept restaurant in the UK back in the days when I was a student. The premium rodizio on the weekday lunch costs €30 per person. We were served by a 16 year old boy who didn’t know anything. He told me in the beginning that for €30 you only get the meat, no buffet included. Which I didn’t believe so I stood up and asked some other staff member in Spanish (~portuguese) and he said “no this boy is wrong, for 30€ you eat unlimited everything. So I was right. Because the boy wanted to charge us €16 for the salad bar and on top of that €30 for the picanha rodizio. Which I found uneblievable so I had to check with someone. Then the rodizio started and we were served all the meats, majority of them pork and chicken, steak was only rump and picanha. Service didn’t speak almost any English or sometimes pretended they don’t, anyway I spent some time in Brazil and I speak Spanish very well so I undertood them, but for such expensive restaurant minimum English and some smile from the staff would be expected at least. Back in the UK where I worked we had 15 cuts of meat for £25, but here there were maybe 8 plus the pineapple for €30. The chicken leg I got was freezing cold inside (I know the meat is cooked before and warmed up but hey it wasn’t warmed up well, it was cooked only outside…) The slices they cut are thick, they should cut thinner. We asked to have picanha again and the waiter or staff member wasn’t very happy to bring it again. They didn’t ask us if we wanted more once they brought all included in the premium menu. One small water 500ml costs €3. QR code on the table with the menu doesn’t work (linktree link is not updated). Salad bar was just ok, I went to similar restaurants in the UK, Barcelona and Brasil and the buffer was always HUGE. I usually tip but I was very dissapointed after having so many misunderstandings with the price, cold chicken leg inside and no smile from the staff and even no conversational-basic English. Not even trying.
Someof the meats lacked seasoning or others were way too salty. I don’t like pork too much and I was awaiting others but that’s not really what I remember from Brazil and other rodizio...
Read moreWe ate here on our first night in Albufeira and it did not bode well for the rest of the holiday. Firstly the menu was not explained to us before we chose what we ate. We were under the impression that it was either the buffet or choose from the a la carte menu. When ordering it was explained that was not the case and the buffet came with most dishes, which was disappointing because the buffet did not look appealing. For starter some of us order the crispy coconut prawns and when eating it became apparent that they were coated in crispy batter with the shells left on which made it really inconvenient to eat. They were also really dry and lacking in flavour. The worst part was the main… one of us ordered a grilled chicken burger which looked bland and anaemic. Inside the burger, underneath the lettuce, was a CATERPILLAR!!! The food was sent straight back but the waiter was unapologetic. The manager came over and although he apologised for everything, he kept saying “this is really surprising” without actually providing a solution until we said that we weren’t paying for any of the food because it had put us all off eating. On top of all this the staff were generally unenthusiastic about their jobs as they were clearly very used to being moaned at. We also had to move from our first table because there was music thumping from the bar below, to the point we couldn’t even hear each other speak. We wished we’d checked the reviews before eating here and urge you to avoid until serious...
