If you are looking for a healthy lunch and breakfast place in Angra do Heroísmo that serves sophisticated yet affordable food - look no further. Bainema is the answer! 👍👍 This place has a stylish minimalistic interior and a big-city brunch vibe, with absolutely great food options (including vegan, vegetarian and even gluten-free). 🥑🥗🥙🥞From avocado toasts, poke and tofu bowls to overnight oats, pancakes, waffles and açaí desserts - everything is made with high-quality fresh ingredients. We stayed in Angra for quite a while last fall and ate there almost every day. The main problem of the town is 90% of restaurants and cafes are either completely closed for lunch or offer coffee or wine only since their kitchens are closed. Bainema is always open and it's a lifesaver for those who don't want to miss a lunch. 🥙🥗 Oh, did I mention their veggie soup that is made daily is as good as at fine-dining restaurants in Lisbon? It's served with Brazilian cheese buns that are total yum! 😋Fruit smoothies are incredible (🍏🍀 mint + green apple is my favorite so far) and what's important - environmentally friendly. 💚 Bye-bye plastic - hello metal reusable straws! Heart and star shaped straws are absolute cuteness! 💛⭐️🫶 Plus if you like something extra - try their golden latte or freshly brewed chai latte with a magnificent spice blend. I doubt you could find this somewhere else in Terceira. And don't forget to order their home-made candies, especially the coconut one. 😜🥥🧁 Are you still reading? Don't walk, just run there already!...

Also a great selection of toasts, tapiocas and pancakes. It’s a great menu. And I’ll stick my neck out and say they do the best and smoothest coffee in town.- go the double espresso! Amazingly, this venue opened less than two weeks ago, and it’s getting interest from the public. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the venue, the friendliness of the staff, the quality of fresh ingredients used in the meals. We went there four times during our stay in town and were never disappointed- great value for money. The venue has a great vibe and caters for all; vegetarians and vegans won’t be disappointed To Miguel. Laura and the team, you deserve this positive review! it was a pleasure to meet you all. Best of luck for the future, and we’ll probably see you next year!...
Read moreThis place is the best, once I found it, I ate here every day for the last month I was in Angra (except Tuesdays -- only because they were closed!)
Over my time going here I ate several different things and they were all fresh and great: the hummus with carrots/toast/cucumber, french toast, avocado toast, eggs, muffins, banana bread (and I don't normally even like bananas).
Furthermore, what makes this place even better is that there is really nothing else like it around (tasty, healthy, light but filling)... It could be half as good and twice as expensive and I still would have been happy going every day.
The staff is really nice, the place is bright and clean, and the location...
