I love this place! The owners are some of the nicest people I met, absolute sweethearts. Most of the food is freshly prepared and really tasty, very good coffee, nice drinks and the pastries are a delight. Since the owners are argentinian, they offer some argentinian food, like empanadas and have a nice selection of handmade argentinian pastries like alfajores which taste nothing but great. Go there, eat empanadas or some fresh sandwiches, drink an ice cold german beer from tap and finish with an alfajor and a coffee. If all of that wasn't enough, you can even sit outside in the sun and watch the moliceiros pass by on the canal...

Pedimos copos de vinho. (Depois de perguntar que têm vinho. O funcionario disse sim que têm.) Quando os copos chegam não parecem bem. Vinho com cor pardo e não claro mas turvo. Não foi bom. Sabia que deve ser muito velho e nada bom. Quando perguntei o funcionario para ver a garrafa, vi que foi um vinho de mesa do Douro que teve quase 10 anos. Eu disse que este vinho não foi certo. Ele disse que não sabia nada de vinho mas que outros pessoas gostam.

Vi outros vinhos na prateleira e tudos eram com quase 10 anos. Então, NÃO É UM LUGAR PARA PEDIR OU BEBER VINHO! TÊM VINHOS MUITO VELHO DEMAIS PARA BEBER. Paguei para dois copos de vinho maus que não bebi. Não voltaremos.

It was not a question of there is something for everyone. The wine was bad and you could not tell that from looking at the bottle. In the glass it was obvious. The wine was brown and did not even taste like wine. When I saw the vintage date on the bottle after seeing that the wine was bad, the age of it gave me a clue as to why it was bad. Most table wines should be consumed within a couple of years of vintage date. All of the wines on the shelf were nearly 10 years old. I would guess that they are all less than drinkable.

I was nice because I knew it was pointless to argue about it with someone who obviously did not know anything about wine.

They served us toast that was clearly old. Eggs, tomatoes, and avocado all appeared to be sitting for some time. We went in the morning, so I will assume the toast was from the day before.
