Ramona in Aveiro has always held a special place in my heart, and after its recent remodelling, I couldn't resist revisiting the beloved establishment. Walking in, I was greeted with a sense of nostalgia mixed with anticipation for what awaited me. The entire building had undergone construction work, and the result was a stunning new look that exuded elegance.
Despite the place being fully booked, the service at Ramona was impressively fast. The staff efficiently managed the bustling crowd, ensuring everyone was attended to promptly. The friendly atmosphere remained intact, and I felt welcomed as soon as I stepped through the door.
For my meal, I opted for their classic burger with fries, and I was not disappointed. The taste was just as incredible as I remembered it to be. The burger was juicy, the toppings were fresh, and the fries were perfectly crispy. Ramona had managed to maintain the essence of their delicious food, even after the remodelling.
As I left Ramona, I noticed a growing queue forming outside, a testament to its popularity. To avoid any disappointment, I would highly recommend booking in advance or arriving early to secure a table. The renewed charm of the place, combined with its delectable food and efficient service, has evidently captured the attention of many.

Read moreIf you need a burger in Aveiro, go here. They are good, and mimic what you're used to back home. Our waiter was a little gruff when we asked for English menus, "Everyone disrespects my language so I must speak both." And he did. We ordered, enjoyed our meal, and when I went to the bathroom, my partner took to asking him about the region, the language, and about himself. I don't think he actually meant "disrespect" in the true sense as he softened immediately and they were thick as thieves when I returned. The moral is that EVERYONE you will meet in Portugal is a nice person, and will do everything within their power to make sure you have a good time in their country. This was the case with everyone we met :)
Oh, and the fries come with "Pink Sauce" all over them (mayo/ketchup). I liked it, but make sure to ask up front if you don't want it added before it comes...
Read moreThe place is very easy to miss from the outside. The name is written in italics. But it's really worth it. There is a lot of tables there, but the place tends to get full. The burgers (main dish) don't look like much, but they are really tasty. Basically, you can either build your own burger, order from the menu or add ingredients as you wish. It tasted good. The fries are also quite good (just the right amount of crunchiness). Overall a good experience and it's also not very expensive. Basic burger is around 4 EUR. This makes it not only tasty but also good for a budget lunch. And the toilets are clean....
