From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by Ricardo, whose friendly smile and assistance went above and beyond. He patiently translated the menu items and, upon learning of our interest in wine, showcased his impressive knowledge and passion for wines, particularly those from the Dão region. We opted for a light bite, sharing a perfectly grilled vegetable board with just the right amount of char on the vegetables. Additionally, we shared a beautifully prepared Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, which paired perfectly with my chosen wine, "Quinta Dos Penassais".

We were recommended this restaurant by a local waiter (working at another restaurant, but was very full). What a great recommendation! We had the suggested wine to go with our meal, perfectly paired. The pasta done to perfection. The deconstructed sardines on bread, and a centre of grilled vegetables was outstanding. The price was very good for the food, wine and service. The evening we spent at Ricardo's was a highlight of our break in Aveiro, when we arrived there was a young couple and an older single guy chatting across tables, we took a table close by and then joined the conversation, within minutes we were all together on one table and five strangers became friends for an evening. All largely facilitated by Ricardo a fantastic host with an infectious enthusiasm and knowledge for wine.
