Café Vani — Restaurant in Cascais

The food is pretty good, keeping in mind I have only tried three different dishes here. You have the option of picking a meal and add rice plus fries on the side as an extra. Example being you can order a burger and then they add their 'iconic' rice and fries combo where they put the rice together in half ball shape. Rice is a hit or miss, there are times where it's really good and others where it's okay (flavor wise). The meat is usually solid (I recommend the pork but it's just a personal favorite). The fries are alright but usually a bit more on the cold side. The people are very kind so that's always a positive! Desserts aren't very recommended because they are all pre-made so it's really nothing special. Pricing is over all good (not counting drinks because those are always expensive). And lastly I'd like to point out the fact that the bathroom is kind of dirty/old/broken which I'm not really a big fan of. There are literally flies in there and you can tell they should do something about it.

In general it's good if you want to have a good costumer experience, eat a hamburger or a meal for cheap and be satisfied, keeping in mind dessert might not be that worth it.

I'd like to point out as a side note that in the end food is food and we all have different tastes so if you don't like hamburgers or pork then this place won't make you like it but there are other options, just haven't tried...

Ordered a bolognaise which was terrible there was no sauce and no salt it left looked like the mince had been boiled and quite literally dog food told them i didn’t like it but still charged me which was fine, the first batch of chips that came had a hair in it sent me a new batch which the hair had clearly been taken out of and put on a plate because the chips were warm not hot. The only decent food was the sweet potato fries which was okay. I understand that they didn’t speak english but they could’ve made an effort.The customer service was not too good the chairs were dirty and the atmosphere was boring. You could tell the staff was getting annoyed about me sending my food back which was not my fault.Overall wouldn’t recommend eating here I understand it’s no Italian restaurant but bolognaise isn’t a complex dish it’s pretty straightforward. If you do decide to go here stay away...

The owner is extremely rude.

Do not ask for ice, more napkins or anything as he will YELL at you for wishing a 5 star service.

Mind you, I asked as nicely as I could for ice on a hot day after receiving a coca cola in room temperature while outside weather is 35 degrees.

Matter of fact, do not consider going there. Price is cheap, but the food is as bland as it can be while the service will leave you having an awful experience.

Can't forget the cherry on top, there was a cockroach in the bathroom stall going down the stairs. Yes, you can expect a sanitary inspection would close...
