The worst meal we ate on the Iberian peninsula. We walked past this spot last night and loved the atmosphere so had our hotel secure a table for 7:30p tonight. We arrived early at 7:15 and initially sat outside on the terrace, but it was extremely windy (and it is still only springtime) so we asked to be moved inside. There was a brunette female waitress who was very disturbed by this but the host said this was not a big deal. We were then seated in a small room with a total of 4 tables of 2 people each. We were given drinks menus and waited about 15 minutes for someone to come take the drink order. I am alcohol free so only ordered water but my friend had a glass of wine. We waited another 15 minutes and a different waiter came to ask what we would like. We responded that we had not received food menus yet and he stated he was just taking the drink order. We pointed at the nearly-full glass of wine on the table and he left to retrieve the food menus. We had the food menus for about 10 minutes before the original server came to take our order. We asked for the arancini appetizer and the side salad to start, followed by one pasta dish for me and the tuna for my friend. The appetizers came out after about 10 minutes. We then sat there for 65 minutes waiting for our food. In the time since we had sat down, the table beside us consumed their entire meal, paid and left. The table behind us arrived after us, and had finished their entrees before our meal arrived. I require a medication every evening which was back in the hotel and at this point was past my time to take it. We asked the server for some bread which he replied he would request the kitchen to bake and would take 5 minutes. At this point we started asking him if they had forgotten our meal order or when we could expect it, to which he replied 3 minutes. 7 minutes later, an underseasoned seared tuna dish and a mediocre amatriciana arrived to the table. For those keeping track, we had been seated for 2 hours at this point. We quickly asked for the check while we continued eating, assuming it would take an hour just like everything else, but they managed to bring this quickly. However, there was no itemized bill or even a subtotal and the waiter tried to just start charging the card. We pointed this out and he went back to print it. He then tried to add a gratuity on his own. Luckily I was able to see this and stop him. This was a horrible experience and such a disappointing way to finish our last...
Read moreWhen we arrived at the restaurant earlier this evening we were shocked by the puling service. We have a 3 year old baby with us, and that'a why we made sure the reservation has been done from our hotel and it was done and confirmed in front of us.
We arrived at 7:15, which is a relatively quiet time, they offered us their one of their worst table on the back with the view of a shabby building and a festival tent in front of it. This is obviously different from what they advertise as the Sea View restaurant. We requested if it was possible to sit us on the table that has a better view. They refused and said the tables with good view is for the special guests (what does that even mean?). All those tables were empty. In the meantime that we were having a conversation with them, they even gave the initial table away to another guest. When we asked them, they were confrontational and incredibly rude. Ultimately, we couldn't take their rude and intolerable attitude any more and left the restaurant.
The service was so apauling and the restaurant staff, in particular thwt of a young lady who was talking to us, that I felt obliged to share my experience.
When she failed to give us a table after quite some time, she claimed that we don't have any reservation. I know this was incorrect for the fact that it was done by our hotel concierge in front of us from Inter Continental hotel. The behaviour, arrogance, and poor service are one of the worst I have ever seen.
If you're going there for the experience and the sea view, dont bother, as the good seat won't be given to you. They are reseved for their "special guest who stay with them". Don't waste your time booking with them as they are totally incompetent to save you a table because of your reservation. They don't care and don't mind ruining your evening.
We ended up leaving the restaurant as we could even get a decent table while most tables were empty.
Going to this restaurant was the worst part of our entire trip. Hope that the restaurant takes this feedback seriously so that others don't have to experience the same disappointment...
Read moreThe restaurant setting is beautiful & the service excellent! Sadly the food, which looks amazing, has no salt! We all know that too much salt is bad, but no salt is fad & tasteless in my opinion. For instance, my linguini with pesto & burrata had no salt, nor nice strong cheese (like Pecorino) to give flavor to the pesto, and the chef also forgot to add a pinch of salt to the water that cooked the linguini.🙂↔️ This is the 1st lesson every Italian learns when cooking pasta 🍝 The texture was still delicious, but the taste lacking 🙏🏻 From my experience, Italian focaccia is usually made with a bit of salt in the dough & a light sprinkle of the thick salt on top… here there were neither☹️ In addition, we ordered 1 portion of focaccia, but when the bill came, there were more; only then was it explained that when you order 1 portion for the table, the minimum is apparently 1 per person🤪 But that info was not passed on to us when we ordered it. We also specified that we only wanted the focaccia without the prosciutto that was suggested with it… but it was still brought to us with the...
