Wow! Prior to visiting Mozzafiato in Cascais city center, I thought the best pizza I had ever eaten was Frank Pepe's in New Haven, Connecticut. Sorry Frank, you are now second chair to the new virtuoso player in town, Mozzafiato. To start, we ordered Tailegio al forno with red onion jam. It was delicious with the savory and sweet complimenting each other perfectly. The simplest part of this dish was the toasts that accompanied it...fresh bread perfectly toasted delivered the most satisfying crunch. Then the pizza. Truffled with porcini mushrooms was our choice and we quickly learned it was a great one. I was so pleased with the amount of mushrooms the chef provided. Read moreWonderful dinner here! Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The staff made us feel welcome from the start. We ordered the oxtail tagliatelle, shrimp risotto, and Nero shrimp linguine, every dish was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly.
Drinks were great too. We had a glass of Vinho Verde and a non-alcoholic mojito, both refreshing and well-balanced.
For dessert, we tried the pistachio cheesecake and panna cotta. Absolutely incredible.
The outdoor seating had a great vibe, blankets were provided since it was a little windy, and the touch lamps on each table gave off a cozy glow under the string lights.

Burrata starter was ok- but desperately needed a little salt. The truffle pasta dish however, is what made us leave early. The noodles were borderline overcooked, barely room temperature, and it was super oily with giant puddle in the bottom of the bowl. We asked them to heat it up and it came back after maybe half a minute in the microwave...
