This was the most authentic lunch we had on our Portugal trip! The owner managed everything on her own and was such a sweet and nice lady. Very welcoming. We call this kind of food “Mamma kitchen”, like if your mum made you this dish and you can feel all the love and tradition she put into it while cooking. We loved it here, we loved her, we loved the food!! Hidden gem for sure! She lived in Brazil for 25 years but is Portuguese so that’s why some of her meals got a Brazilian twist to them. The food was incredible. The fish was so nicely seasoned with garlic and cilantro, and she asked beforehand if we love cilantro or not. The smashed potatoes were good too and the salad was very fresh and crispy. For dessert I had a piece of her perfectly baked chocolate cake, which was one of the best I have ever tasted. Will definitely come back if I’m ever again in Cascais/Lisboa.

Paulinha is a tiny, unassuming spot in Cascais that feels like stepping into someone's kitchen. The owner is incredibly warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. It's clear she pours her heart into the food, and it tastes like it! We had the codfish in cream, and it was rich, savory, and delicious. We also had the steak and it was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. You can tell everything is made with care and quality ingredients. It was also lovely to see so many locals and regulars enjoying their meals - a testament to the authentic experience Paulhina offers. Just a heads up - bring cash, as they don't accept cards. If you're looking for a genuine, home-cooked meal in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must-try. It's like having your mom cook for you in Portugal! Highly recommended!

Paulinha’s is a nice little restaurant off the main strip. The shop was nice and clean and there’s indoor and outdoor seating. We were surprised our white wine came out of a box and our the fish with cream came out of the microwave. Maybe they were premade and it’s just to put a nice layer of warm baked cheese on top. I’m docking points because we felt misled when ordering our food. We were told the portions were very small and not enough to share. When our orders came out, they were huge and we totally could have shared a plate. The place is small and clean, and the service is pretty good. Overall we thought it was ok, although we felt taken advantage of by being upsold. Not a great experience.
