This is a little diamond in the rough, we did not expect to find this lovely and very secluded Indian restaurant as the main cuisine but, also offering Italian food as an alternative, "Lucky" the owner ( short for Luckvit) is fantastic host and made us feel very welcome. The chicken Biryani I had was absolutely tasty I could choose my heat as in chilli heat, I went for medium and it was brilliant, Anna had Chicken and Mushrooms in a garlic and ginger sauce again very tasty. I had a garlic Naan with condiments again very tasty, overall presentation brilliant!! Good table service. This place has an upstairs part to it, where it can cater for much larger groups with ample space clean and a bar service also available. We give this restaurant 5 stars as it ticks all the boxes. Oh and we noticed they do a takeaway service but in the Coimbra area only!! Bon appetit to those who venture in this little gem ❤️❤️🙏

Too often you read opinions of people who wax lyrical about a place and over exaggerate how good it is. I'm not usually prone to that but what I can say is in fifty years of eating in Indian restaurants around the world, this probably tops all of them. The taste, texture and the cooking of the dishes exceed anything I've had before. At some time you experience the "best" something, no matter what it is, your mind goes back to that experience and wish it could happen again. This for me was one of those times. In fact, no matter the delights of Coimbra, I'd be inclined to come back just to visit this restaurant. I only wish I could have eaten more - especially the very hard if not impossible to find pani puri. Thank you to them.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I must say that it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped through the door I was greeted with warm hospitality and delightful ambience. Menu has extensive range of Indian cuisines, made by skilled chefs who definitely know there work that how to blend spices. The service at Taj Indian punjabi Restaurant was exceptional, with attentive staff who were eager to explain the dishes and offer recommendations. They made sure that every detail was taken care of, ensuring a memorable dining experience. I will definitely recommend you to dine in this restaurant. Thank you again to the team for an amazing experience.

The service was nice and welcoming. When ordering the main courses we were asked about what level of heat we would like the food to be which was a nice touch. We had the chicken pakora to start - they were tasty and were not oily which is always a plus. They also came with 4 dips - we only liked two as the others were quite spicy but others might enjoy them. The butter chicken was good. The mango chicken sauce was nice, however, the chicken in it was very chewy and completely different to the one in the butter chicken. A bowl of rice comes with the main dishes which was well cooked. I had the sweet naan (similar to a pishwari naan) which was nice and my partner had the garlic naan which she didn't like. We both had chips which I enjoyed but my partner found to be quite salty. Overall not the best Indian I have ever had, but still a good meal and not...
