Had an appointment with Aima in the afternoon of the 20th August and driving from the north of the Guarda district, we needed lunch in a very convenient place. We also love Asian food, Yuma ticked all the right boxes. The place is pretty spacious and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We arrived just for the lunch opening time, welcome was friendly and polite, we were given a choice of where to sit, a table that could be used for four, giving us ample space to enjoy our food and relax. The ordering of the all-you-can-eat is done via mobile phone through a couple of QR code, a system which we really like, easy, practical and efficient. Not all staff spoke English but we could also manage in Portuguese when necessary, so no problem. The place gets naturally busy with a formula at 15.90 euros each. We took a bottle white wine from Tras-os-Montes, one we never had before. It was very affordable at well under 10 euros and delicious. We also ordered water. The food was excellent, well presented in an array of nice dishes. Everything was really fresh, as they should, quality was great and the service was perfect up to a point near the end of our stay when we made our final order that included several sashimis which had not previously ordered during our meal and a couple of small cooked dishes with prawns. The latter we got pretty swiftly but then were left waiting for some time without the sashimis to arrive. After a while, we asked assistance and were told by a nice girl that we could just re-order as our previous order had possibly been delivered to the wrong table. We agreed this was a possibility though it seems the system is pretty error-proof. So we placed the same sashimi order again, only a small plate of it arrived and once again we were left waiting for the rest for what felt much too long. Further assistance was called for, the girl said the sashimis may have been taken to another wrong table! Twice seemed a bit of a farfetched excuse which we found hard to believe. She went to investigate again and came back to say that there were no more sashimi available!! We were very disappointed by this unexpected experience, the first time this happened to us in this type of Sushi restaurant. We always took other reviews about such experience with a pinch of salt but this was obviously something that do occur and this was leaving a bad taste in our mouth! We were also shocked to see a table of young women near us sporting t-shirts of a local healthclub, ordering food to the point of not having enough space on their table and leaving the place with enough food to satisfactorily feed one person, an absolute disgrace. We were only hoping the restaurant would charge them for wastage but being likely regular local clients, we guessed they would have turned a blind eye! I visited this restaurant when they first opened, and I must say, it was the first time in my life I was served a frozen steak at a barbecue restaurant. I understand the concept of Asian barbecue—whether Korean, Japanese, or Chinese—and am no stranger to cooking the meat myself at the table. However, I have never been served a frozen steak at any BBQ restaurant before. Thinly sliced meat might defrost quickly enough to be manageable, but a chunky steak? Absolutely not. It’s unacceptable.
When I raised my concern to the owner, I was met with the condescending question, “Have you ever eaten Korean BBQ before?” I have—many times. His dismissive response that “it’s normal to serve frozen steak” left me questioning his understanding of proper food quality and service in this context.
To make matters worse, they were out of lettuce—at lunchtime, right when they had just opened for the day. This speaks volumes about their poor management and lack of preparation.
Additionally, the price-to-portion ratio is severely unbalanced. The portions of meat are incredibly small for the price charged. Having dined at Korean BBQ restaurants in Lisbon multiple times, I can confidently say those restaurants are both better value and, surprisingly, cheaper than this one.
Although my visit was months ago, I’ve held back from writing an angry impulsive review, hoping my experience was a rare oversight. But seeing the glowing reviews others have left, I feel compelled to share my honest feedback.
Suffice it to say, I won’t be returning. I sincerely hope the restaurant has since improved both its food quality and hospitality standards, but as it stands, serving frozen steak—especially in such a setting—is unacceptable, and dismissing customer concerns with condescension...
Read moreBoa tarde a todos! Então vamos lá… primeiramente estou falando da unidade que fica em frente à Praça princesa Cindazunda, no Largo Arnado 300 em Coimbra. Pois parece-me que tens outras unidades. Falo isso pq vi comentários bons de atendimento e da comida de lá. Porém, hoje lá fui na hora do almoço, paguei 19,90 euros por ser domingo, e bebidas são a parte, e não fiquei contente com o serviço prestado. Mas vou explicar pois nem tudo foi ruim. A comida realmente é maravilhosa…vem na sua maioria aquecida, quando se trata de “fritos”. Mas agora vamos falar da parte ruim…então já começo a falar pela looooonga espera para começar a receber meus pedidos. O pedido é feito por um site que é direcionado pelo QRCode colado a cada mesa com seu número. Vc faz o pedido todo pela tecnologia. Porém não sei o pq demorou a chegar os pedidos e no site/app falava que já tinha sido concluído. Fiquei 30 minutos só a comer 3 guiozas fritas, pois o restante do pedido não vinha. Foi aí que tive a “brilhante” ideia de pedir ajuda pelo provido site. “Ajuda” esperei esperei e foram chegando alguma coisas…mas nunca o que já estava dizendo “concluído” na site/app. A ajuda veio depois de um tempo. Perguntei a senhora oq se passava pois no app estava a dizer que eu tinha recebido o “artigo” mas eu não recebi. Aí ela disse que tem que se esperar até 15 minutos depois da confirmação no app. Porém falei com ela que já havia muito mais que 15 minutos. Aí ela perguntou oq era que tava falatando eu disse que era o panado de queijo e por aí vai…pois eram mais da metade do pedido que não chegava. Aí ela disse “é como eu disse tem que esperar, mas vou dar uma olhada”. Foi lá falou com alguns colegas e continuou a atender. Não me deu nenhuma explicação. Aí falei com um dos garçom, se tinha ocorrido algo ele disse que era para eu fazer o pedido novamente no app. E fiz. Quando eu já tava perdendo as esperanças e quase indo embora chegou tudo de uma vez, mas ainda faltando o panado de queijo. Comi tudo, chegou o outro pedido que o garçom pediu para fazer de novo, e nada dos panados de queijo. Aí eu fiquem esperando mais um pouco, fui pedir de novo no app e o app já não estava mais a funcionar pq o restaurante fecha às 14:30 e aí não se consegui mais pedir nada pelo app. Tinha algumas pessoas ainda lá a comer, 1/3 das mesas estavam com pessoas. Esperei até que veio um garçom e disse que já não havia mais o tal do panado de queijo. Eu pedi pedi e pedi e não consegui provar oq eu queria. Frustrante toda essa espera e mal atendimento. Apesar da comida realmente está muito boa eu não voltarei mais e nem indicaria. Pode ter sido só hoje, mas a casa nem cheia tava para ter tanto atraso no rodízio e tanta falta de atenção com os clientes. Desinteresse total. Comida é MARAVILHOSA. Com pratos bem empratados, que dá até gosto de ver e comer. Mas uma demora absurda para atendimento. App com problemas, pois é o que me leva a crer tanto desencontro de informações. É falta de interesse dos funcionários que lá estão. E não acaba. Me levantei já cansada de tanto esperar, e fui ao caixa que fica na saída. Já lá tava algumas pessoas à espera. Um casal a minha frente a reclamar e olhar para dentro para vê se alguém os nota. E fiquei mais uns 15 ou mais minutos em pé na fila para pagar a conta a esperar alguém aparecer para cobrar a conta e pagarmos. É isso…CONCLUINDO! Desgastante. O casal a minha frente até disse se formos pessoais ruins já tinha ido embora sem pagar. Não indico e nem voltaria outras vezes, mesmo que a experiência gastronomia(sabor da comida) tenho sido maravilhosa, definitivamente não voltaria. Para quem está com muita fome e pressa, que não era meu caso, por isso fiquei tanto tempo à espera, não vá. No mais obrigada a todos. E boa...
