A Coffee Delight in Faro with a Brazilian vibe!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
At 16:30, my craving for a beer and a snack led me to the enchanting Yellow Bourbon. From the moment I entered, the place exuded a posh yet welcoming vibe. The smooth blend of jazz music and bossa nova set the perfect tone for what turned out to be a delightful experience.
Yellow Bourbon is undoubtedly a local hotspot, drawing people in for its exceptional coffee specialties, delicious lunches, and an array of hot and cold drinks paired with heavenly homemade pastries. The Brazilian touch added a unique flair to the ambiance, making it feel like a cultural escape.
The menu offered a pleasant surprise with Brigadeiros and Pao de Queijo, giving a taste of authentic Brazilian flavors. The open kitchen allowed me to witness the culinary magic as my food was prepared, adding an interactive element to the dining experience.
The staff, friendly and attentive, contributed to the relaxed atmosphere. The place was not only impeccably clean but also radiated a warm and inviting energy. What struck me even more was the high standard of service at a more than reasonable price – a rare find!
I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Faro, and Yellow Bourbon is undoubtedly on my list. To top it off, you can even take home a piece of their specialty – liquor-filled chocolates. A perfect treat for friends and family, sealing the memories of this exceptional culinary journey.
In summary, Yellow Bourbon is not just a restaurant; it's a cultural oasis in Faro. Don't miss the chance to experience its charm and savor the flavors that make it a gem in the heart...
Read moreI just went here for a coffee. Being a specialty coffee enthusiast, I was excited by the thought of Faro having an addition to the scene. I wanted a pour over and was told for one person only a drip bag, but I could have a larger pour over for 2 if I wanted? OK, a bit strange but I opted for the latter. The coffee came out, a double dosed v60 which could have easily been prepared for one. Also, seemes lazy that they would bring out the ingredients for the customer to pour themselves. Sadly the coffee was ground way too fine, no chance for the coffee to bloom and resulting in an overeaxtracted and very bitter cup. The coffee residue resembled a brown sludge in the filter which should never be the case. A shame, as I know Brazilian Yellow Bourbon can have a beautifully sweet and balanced taste profile. Seems like an easy fix if the management were to taste test rather than just try and get away with charging more for more coffee without applying some brew principles to allow for an enjoyable coffee experience. Ambience and...
Read moreThe service was polite. But very much feel that the word ‘Specialty’ is miss leading, standard would be more adequate. This is not a specialty coffee, one type of coffee roasted by themselves for filter or espresso, dark roast, little characteristic. Lack of knowledge on the actual coffee they are providing (from our experience from asking questions). It was an interesting service, V60 is provided with ground coffee pre installed and water to pour yourself. All well and good but if you know about coffee, temperature of water, coffee to water ratio, and speed of pour is important to produce and even the extracted coffee. We did our best with provided ( we make daily poorovers) but the results were as expected. The grind settings produced an under extract cup very boring cup, without scale and correct temperature water you will not get a ‘Specialty coffee’ would avoid if you are looking for something other than STANDARD. I will also mention the food was Ok but far overpriced for what you get taste and portion size, better...
