My husband & I dined here today (7 Sept 2025) for dinner. We walked in and were seated by Richard (that’s his local name here, his real name is something else). We sat down at 7:25pm. We ordered our meal at 7:31pm (that was the official time it was punched in). Our dinner however came to our table at 8:45pm and that too after asking for it several times. There were lots of people who came in much after us. But all of their meals came to their table much before our dinner arrived. On being asked, one of the servers lied to us with the reason for the delay. Another person told us the truth “there was a mix up with our order paper in the kitchen so they messed up inside”. When we confronted the first server who lied to us, he got a bit loud initially trying to justify his initial lie. But he soon realised we held our ground & didn’t budge. He later acknowledged that they indeed did mess up in the kitchen with our order sheet and that was the reason for the mistake. He was mildly apologetic especially when we told him it was our anniversary. When we asked for the bill, we received the bill as the entire amount. Normally, when restaurants mess up on this level, they comp at least a water or a side like fries as a gesture of gratitude/apology, if not an entire main or meal (as we might be used to in countries with better hospitality than in European countries). But here, they billed for the entire thing as if zero damns were given. When we asked for the card machine to pay the bill, the server asked us if we weren’t informed at the time of sitting down that their card machine doesn’t work and we can only pay in cash. We said we weren’t informed. He asked us who seated us. We said Richard. Richard then came to our table to out right lie to our face that he did in fact tell us about this when he seated us. We told him he didn’t say anything. Ultimately, my husband went to an atm to withdraw cash (which is never convenient as a tourist especially when atms charge you a 5euro fee for cash withdrawal. The food is very good here. But everything else about them is absolutely pathetic. Very disappointing...

We had a wonderful last evening in Faro and Portugal in general. For the last evening of our holiday we chose the Faaron Steakhouse because we were particularly drawn to it by the positive word of mouth and the top reviews that already existed. We reserved our table outside the day before, which we discovered was more than good, as the terrace was completely full when we arrived at 8 p.m.
Thanks to the patio heaters that were set up, I was able to sit comfortably outside in November in a skirt and top without freezing. Very comfortable and cozy!
The consistently attentive service staff spoiled us with great service from the very first second. They even kept an additional table inside free for us so that we had the option if it was too cold.
I would particularly like to highlight the service employer Sohel, who was responsible for our table and guided us through the carefree evening. All of our wishes were fulfilled except for the pistachio ice cream, which was unfortunately sold out at the end. You can tell that he actually comes from the service of 5-star hotels, as he told us at the end. He is an asset to the Faaron restaurant.
I can only say one thing about the food: addictive! We had the dry-aged T-bone steak, the Wagyu rib eye and the Kobe Wagyu steak and some siders. Everything was perfect.
We would love to come back! Absolutely warm recommendation if you are in Faro, definitely worth a visit! Best...
Read moreTerrible Service & Misleading "Halal" Options Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We had made a reservation, yet we were seated outside in the cold. When we asked if the heat lamp could be moved more toward the center so everyone could benefit, we were told it wasn’t possible because "other guests are also here." But wouldn’t placing it in the middle actually help everyone? We then asked if we could sit inside, but that was also not an option because "other people had reservations." Well, so did we.
Then came the food: I ordered an appetizer, and nowhere on the menu did it mention that it contained bacon. The restaurant clearly labels some dishes as halal, so you’d think they would also indicate when a dish includes pork, especially when it’s a significant ingredient. I don’t eat pork, so I asked if there was any in the dish. At first, they said no, but when I asked for extra confirmation, they admitted it actually did contain pork. They replaced it after 10 minutes, by which time my dining companions had already finished their starters.
For the main course, I ordered the "halal" picanha dish, which was supposed to come with rice, potatoes, and beans. When the same waiter brought our food, I was shocked to find ham in the rice that came with the so-called halal picanha dish. Absolutely unacceptable! You cannot promote halal options and then make such careless and offensive mistakes.
Overall, a terrible...
