As I write this review, I am still here awaiting my dessert which I am certain will be amazing based on my experience so far. I ordered the 250g tenderloin medium rare which comes with a side salad and a “stuffed potato” which is a baked potato with sour cream and chives for those of you from the U.S. The salad was fantastic, the potato amazing (I’m not sure why but in Faro, they make magic with milk products here!). The sour cream is the best I have ever had. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. I really didn’t expect to eat all 9 ounces of the filet but I simply could not leave a bite on my plate. It was just too good! Also took a chance on the house red for only 4.5 euros and was quite pleasantly surprised by the quality! A nice drinkable red with spicy notes and red fruits which paired beautifully with the steak. And I suspect the remainder of my second glass will go well with the chocolate soufflé that I ordered as well! The service has been prompt but not overwhelming. All set to lovely Brazilian background music. Truly a lovely evening! And I say all of this as a solo traveler! The only complaint that I have? That I did not discover this restaurant prior to my last night in Faro!

They take their meat very seriously here! They dry age their own beef. There is a good choice of both size (200/300gr) and quality (wagyu, etc) of each cut. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. The orders are cooked exactly as specified (medium rare, etc). There is a range of both good and fine wines. Our party of four had two couverts (bread with oil and olives), two Black Pig (Iberian style cured ham) starters, four steaks mainly 300g, some sauces, extra fries, ice cream and cheese board, two bottles of wine and digestifs for E240. You can spend a lot more but probably don't need to. I recommend the Black Pig and then the ribeye, done medium rare. Don't bother to order chips (aka potato fries) - steaks come with baked potato and salad. We enjoyed the wines which were both Quinta Carvalha (one rose E20, one red E39). If I had a suggestion to make it would be to add more explanation to the menu to describe each item and to say what side dishes are included. The wine list lacks any description apart from name and price. I would like to see grape varieties and words like 'full bodied'. Otherwise I can't fault Faaron. In fact, I highly recommend it.

As someone who frequently enjoys fine dining experiences, we went into Faarons without high expectations, however, after we left it became clear that this establishment offered some of the best gastronomical experiences in all of Portugal. The server recommended a fantastic wine that was the perfect touch to an already perfect rack of lamb. We have tried many lamb dishes throughout our culinary experience but this lamb was second to none. Cooked exactly to our specifications and by far more delicious than any other lamb dish we have ever had. We also ordered a plate of mushroom pasta from the vegetarian section and it was an exceptional dish that matched no other mushroom pasta we have tried before. The pasta was perfectly creamy and the pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente. Beyond the delicious food, the ambience and our interaction with the staff were a critical element in making this a truly special gastronomical experience for us. We plan to return to Faro, even if it is simply just to enjoy another rack of lamb and dish of mushroom pasta from this superb restaurant located in the heart of Faro.

Ordered “GARLIC SHRIMP” and in the description it clearly said garlic and oil. And basically got a dessert, it had so much honey it was as sweet as a dessert. Horrible. When asked the waiters, they were basically “ah yes, it has honey and orange too” and there was no description of it on the menu. Disgusting. My friend ordered the chicken, and asked for the cream on the side… when the dish came, everything was all over the place and they were annoyed by THEIR mistake. Avoid at all costs… no service, horrible food. ADDITIONAL NOTE: I DID TRIED TO RETURN THIS FOOD, both waiters ignored me and tried to convince me of the ingredients. I ordered the bread BEFORE eating the shrimp and realizing the sauce was disgusting. After paying 17€ for a dish the waiters refused to take back, of course I will eat it agains’t my will. I basically just CLEANED each prawn from the sauce and left the sauce untouched. Ask your servers properly, always easier to fight on the customer after the bill has been paid.

This restaurant is in central town and is full of vibe and atmosphere. It gets very busy and is a great place to go, you can even see one of the local storks on its nest. We visited in May 24 and went back twice as the food was outstanding and by far the best we’d had in our week’s stay. I had the chicken breast which was beautifully presented and already sliced for you, with the most delicious mushroom sauce and potato dauphinois like I’ve never tasted before. My partner had the steak one evening and prawns and had the same chicken as me the following evening. The staff are incredibly friendly and the service is excellent. I’d like to give a special Thankyou to the waiter I think his name was Ricardo who was extremely polite, friendly and funny he was a fabulous character. I highly recommend a visit here it makes for a wonderful evening out .

Very happy and pleased to recommend this restaurant. Food is fresh absolutely high standard of dining. Amazing taste. Amazing presentation. Thank you Bebe for amazing starters you prepared for us. We had breaded camembert, gratinated goat cheese and duck liver. For main course we picked Rack of lamb with herbs and Magret of duck with orange sauce. Thank you Luis for this delicious food. Pictures will say on its own how great the food was. Need to say big thank you also to Sandro our waiter for his absolutely professional attitude in every single way nailed with bright smile and warm heart. To see person like you Sandro is just highlight. It's very hard to find someone who has passion for this job ❤️ (or is such a good actor 🤣 you deserve in that case Oscar). Can't forget to say thank you to rest of the team. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
