Seriously surprised how this place is keeping its doors open. Both the service and food were terrible. I ordered pork and my friends ordered chicken skewer dishes, supposed to be grilled, they were not! They looked like they were boiled in water, really tough and inedible. I asked the waiter if the meat isn't going to be dry, he said definitely not. Just because it comes with sauce, it doesn't mean the meat won't be dry. There was also no sign of any seasoning. I sent my pork dish back right away. Ordered calamari thing with veg instead, veg weren't cooked. One of my friends asked the waiter if the chicken wasn't supposed to be grilled, he said it was grilled when clearly it wasn't. She ended up without any dinner, the waiter took the full plate away, didn't apologise or said anything about why it's full. My other friend's order got taken wrong. When she finally received her shrimp dish, the veg was uncooked. Half of our table left without dinner basically. No one came to us to ask what the problem was or what can they do to make it better. I said to the waiter that we're not blaming him that the food was bad, he just went on that it's not his fault. This was the worst dinner experience I've probably ever had. Such a tourist trap, they only care about sitting you down so you pay the money, not about what they deliver and...

We visited on Thursday 14th March late at night as we were on our evening stroll through the city centre and got interested because of the live music. In the end we decided to have a dinner here as we liked the atmosphere. The waiter was clearly intoxicated which had a negative effect on his concentration and the overall quality of the service.

The food took quite a long time to arrive, the vegetables were not cooked enough and my fiancé's octopus was chewy and seemed overcooked. I took the opportunity to try the traditional Scabbardfish with banana and maracuja sauce. It's certainly an interesting combination of flavours, the sauce was a bit too sour to my liking but it all worked quite well together and I was glad I have tried it.

I have to rate the experience as a whole and overall, unfortunately it did not meet our expectations. The traditional dish and live music were what prevented this review from scoring...

Ordered a beer and as a starter bolo do caco and for main the grilled salmon. Had to wait a very longtime and then they served ....the salmon. They forgot the bread, can happen but now they served it ....cold afterwards and it was not tasty at all. The salmon was good, the vegetables were tasteless. After dinner they asked did it taste, no not at all l was my answer. The waiter did not pay any attention anymore so no desert or no coffee anymore for me. After a long waiting I asked for the bill twice. Finally he came but then I had to wait again to pay. After a long time not the waiter but a colleague of him came, to whom i paid for the beer the salmon and also for the bread (!). Ofcourse no tip for them now, what I normally do here on Madeira. Untill now I had good experience with the other restaurants in that street. This was the...

Interesting variety of paella, which we were seeking for no reason, but there it was, and we stopped by. I took the regional beef, though, and I liked it - maybe a little hard but very tasty. My mates had paella and they looked very satisfied. Among the appetisers, we selected bruschetta with salmon or ham, made up of local garlic bread, which I came to love so much since I landed in Madeira. Kind personnel and nice environment, we had our dinner outside on the street, which was full of tables from this and other restaurants. There were also lots of nice English people (I think the place's name acts like a magnet in this case) and live music to complete the picture.
