A delightful cafe and bakery walking distance from resorts district. Spacious seating inside and outside. Fantastic service. I didn’t try their cakes but they look mouth watering. This place is also open early on Sunday when most other cafes are either closed or open late. A warning though - I was there Sunday morning and this swarm of 15-20 runners came and the place got extremely busy all of a sudden. As is the custom in Portugal - you eat/drink first and pay later. An issue, however, became that now there was a line up to pay when you wanted to leave! And then a customer also came a bit upset that he was waiting for his coffee for 20 mins. And there is only main person who takes the orders and payments. So, if it’s busy, get the payment out of the way when you’re ordering so you can leave whenever you want without delay. Clean washrooms. Ever since I discovered this place, I came everyday during our stay in Funchal. Highly recommended!

i had high hopes for this place. its near to our hotel. looked nice but i was wrong. first i was ordering the food and drinks, the lady didnt understand me so instead of asking if i spoke english or saying that her colleague would take my order, she just throws the notebook at her colleague to take over. rude as hell. the main insult is i asked for prego with egg and cheese. i said no to ham as my partner doesnt eat pork. the insult was that when i went back to complain the sandwich had ham on it, they had the nerve to just dig out the ham and give the same one back. no sorry. no “we will discount you for the inconvenience”. no here is a fresh one. now im native to the island and i found this behaviour insulting to my partner and friends who are experiencing madeira for the first time. definitely wouldn’t be coming back to this place. attitude needs adjusting here

Just popped in to ask about gluten free cakes so that we can visit for morning coffee tomorrow. There were around five different choices! And the lovely guy who served us was so knowledgeable about gluten intolerance, coeliac/celiac and lactose intolerance. We stayed for ice cream! There's also sorbet available for lactose intolerant customers 🥰 We visited again the following morning for GF Banana and walnut cake with our morning latte and again in the evening for the creamiest ice cream ever!

Although there are a lot of truly great bakery/coffee shops on Madeira Island, 'Boutique Lido' is my all time favorite!!!

The coffee that they make is mind-blowingly delicious and completely addictive and the baked goods are expertly and, clearly, lovingly and masterfully created on site!!!

I have tasted a lot of Queijadas on Madeira Island but Boutique Lido's are THE very best that you will ever taste!!!

If you give the Boutique Lido Team adequate notice, they will expertly and professionally create a custom designed cake or baked goods for any occasion!!!

They even also serve wonderful teas and traditional ponchas!!!

In addition to all of the above, you will never find nicer people with warm, welcoming, and beautifully friendly smiles (...one, in particular!!!) than the Boutique Lido Team!!! It's even better than going to someone's home and I will always be truly grateful for living a short walk from this absolutely amazingly delightful bakery and coffee shop!!!

Go to Boutique Lido for an absolutely wonderful breakfast and/or sandwich on freshly baked bread and start your day out in the very best way possible!!! Sit outside on their terrace...

Needless to say, I give Boutique Lido the highest rating possible!!! Tell them that 'Lee' sent...
