La Paella — Restaurant in Funchal

I've never written reviews about restaurants. But now it is necessary because the waiters are doing bad things. My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant and asked them , if it’s possible , to cook fried shrimp for us. On their menu, a small portion of shrimp costs 15 euros and we said that we would pay for one portion of large shrimp as two small portions. Yes, they brought a beautiful dish with 10 shrimps, but to get a bill of 126 euros!!!... Why?! This price is not on the menu! I said this is wrong. after that they said that it was a mistake, they brought a new bill, but it was also higher than normal - 72 euros! but the waiter said that we had to pay for it, since it was prepared especially for us. I’ll also add to my review that the shrimp were not very tasty... I don’t recommend this restaurant. Madeira is a wonderful place, it’s a pity that there are some unpleasant...

Came here 3 days ago and the food was lovely as was the service. Tonight we arrived and ordered. Garlic bread arrived at the same time as 2 local females on the table next to us. They received 1 to 1 service, their starter's and main course arriving extremely quickly, whilst we were still sat waiting for our mains. Our food duly arrived...but no veg, which we waited 5 minutes for, and the rest of my fish course, a few minutes later which was extremely salty. During this time, the plates etc from the garlic bread remained on our table, yet the 2 portuguese ladies were being served desert! Another English couple arrived during this time and were still waiting for their main course as we left. Service was disgusting and we will...

My friend and I stopped in to this wonderful little patio restaurant so happy we did. There is so many to choose from. They had a wonderful singer. She had a beautiful voice. It was such a happy vibe. The food we ordered was spectacular and was reasonably priced. I like getting, a lot of great food on my plate not tiny little portions, I had to take some home. It was so delicious swordfish on the hot plate. It had come with a side of veggies. It was absolutely delicious. The experience was amazing. The service was outstanding. The owner was wonderful And I am sending my friends there when they come this week. Thank you so much for such an amazing dinner and experience will definitely be back right away...
