This is the definition of a cheapstreet restaurant in Funchal- this restaurant is disgusting, the food was pretty much floating off the plate the hamburger was a piece of American cheese and cheap ham (not nice bacon and cheddar cheese as said in the menu) the beef was what one would describe as peeled off the floor and thrown in the burger bun. The garlic bread was half toasted half not and garlic was not existent so next time maybe just call it bread and people would know what they are getting themselves into. The vodka and sodas may as well have been paint stripper in fizzy water. All the main waiter was saying was that the food was very very good- far from it. I wouldn’t even get this place if you paid me and then coming to the end of the bill it came to €303 for 10 granted for 10 that is very good and we would be happy to pay should it have been adequate we went in and spoke to the waiters and said that we weren’t happy and she took 2 of the carbonara off the bill as a gesture of goodwill however not one person at the meal!!!!! Do not go here!!! If you cannot look after your customer you should not have taken the booking. Disgusting don’t go and avoid all of cheapstreet, not cheap and you are cramped into a side street disgusting!!!! Personally I would say this review is nicer than what the...
Read moreWe are extremely unhappy with our experience of eating at Coachella restaurant. To start with, we were not given cutlery. Then the food didn't correspond to the description in the menu (there was supposed to be banana sauce and the waiter told us that if we mash the banana, it will become a sauce). Next, the bill was wrong, the wine cost 16 euros in the menu and we were charged 19 for it. Last but not least, we were pressurised to leave about half an hour after we started eating. Waiters took our plates away before we had actually finished, they started to fold table covers and put tables inside while we were still drinking. We were not told they were going to close soon when we were ordering a bottle of wine. Also, the waitress said she didn't have paper money and gave us 10 euros in coins. WOULD NOT...
Read moreWhat I had: Duck & Rice.
The atmosphere: Quite and nice. Perfect outdoor seating. It has a dress store inside, unusual but unique in its own way.
The staff: Very young and inexperienced. The staff should be where the customers are, on this date, everyone was seated outside but yet no staff was outside. None the less this is not an issue. Experience comes with time.
The food: (CAUTION): The food, does not reflect the menu. I was put off by the menu and I was on the verge of leaving prior to even sitting down. The menu needs to be changed to reflect in what is being served.
The food was amazing. Very well presented. Tested good, the duck was seasoned well. The salad was amazing. It blew my expectations. The restaurant is cosy. It's calm and in a quiet place.
I would recommend...
