Only reviewing to address the 4 star reviews...the pastries we had there would have to be dropped on the street and run over by a leaking gasoline truck before being eaten to be anything but 5 star! Service, coffeee, and especially the original and perfect pastries where all 5 stars +. Server Monica was as smart, efficient and entertaining as they come. Brilliant, brilliant experience. Don't go there if you are not from Madeira!!!! That the most dishonest coffee shop. I usually go to Opan the coffee shop just in the front, but to change I decided to go to Confeitaria. A chino (Americano) at Opan 0.95c, Confeitaria 2€! They charged me a Chino especia which is basically the same coffee than a Chino but more expensive for the tourists... When I ask for my money back they told me that was the price. And weird the same coffee with a dash of milk, a Chinesa, was 1€10. I came already few times to this Confeitaria with Portuguese friends and never paid a coffee that expensive. I will never go back...

Busy bustling conveniently located cafe serving an array of decadent pastries, cakes, and treats. We had a city walking tour booked at 10am and arrived early so needed a spot to wait and get a coffee. This place is very modern and very busy. There’s seating outside and some inside too. And there’s free Wi-Fi & clean toilets downstairs. Sitting outside is a perfect people watching spot. This was the perfect start...
