Typical Italian restaurant serving various Italian dishes. All the food that was served to us was ok. A couple of niggles though, the calzone was a bit doughy, the vegetable soup was blended smooth so looked like lentil and could of done with a bit more taste and the codfish didn't taste like cod, still had it's skin on and it's back bone in, and was a very thin fillet, (so I'm not sure it even was cod), but look out for bones if you do order it. What a unexpected visit from me. I was so thirsty and tired from a walk and i saw people eating amazing food outside. So, i decided to give it a go. When i entered the shop i am so happy that the staff are responsive and talked to me. Normally if you are a foreigner its very hard to get attention. Anyway i loved the place. Its little small but i guess its different upstairs. Its all a very good place to calm yourself and enjoy a peaceful time. Flavours of Italy in Funchal is fantastic. The food was spot on, especially the chef’s pizza with prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, and rocket – it was full of flavour and had a perfect crust. The garlic bread and crostinis were also really good, fresh, and full of taste.

I’d say it’s the best Italian I’ve had in Funchal. The service was excellent, really attentive and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving...
