Esplanada Jardim Municipal — Restaurant in Funchal

It is a small café in the municipal garden. There were three of us - a couple and a 23 month old. There was no baby chair, but the staff was friendly and helpful. We had the prego in bolo do caco with fries. It was the best we had in Funchal. It was really really good. This restaurant is nicely located in the garden area downtown with breeze and sun umbrellas. However, the food is not very good for its price.

The price is similar to fancy restaurants along the main street, €14 for what seems like a frozen pizza from a grocery store. Orders come fast though and the staff are nice.

But I don't recommend it unless you only want to order a quick drink...

Service could be better, had to go up to the counter to order drinks twice as waters stood around chatting with one another rather than scanning the tables. Since I was at the counter, I requested that I take the drink back to my table, but no no that's not allowed, I had to go back to the table and wait for the same inattentive waiter to bring...
