Benedito Brunch — Restaurant in Guimarães

Found this place after walking around the centre of the old town on a rainy Monday lunchtime when most places were closed. So glad we did! It was packed when we arrived and everybody seemed to have arrived within 30 minutes of each other so service was (understandably) a little slow. Food was worth the wait. We had the daily eggs bene special and a wonderful light cheesecake for dessert. Interior has a chic modern style. Service was very friendly. Got to chat with one of the two owners once the place quietened down. Kudos to two young guys following their dream to open a restaurant - in the middle of a pandemic at that. They deserve to succeed. Definitely recommend this place if you need a change from standard...

I was very much looking forward to this place because I needed to have vegan food. I ordered an oat capuccino it was ok. Then I asked for the vegetarian burger to be adapted to a vegan version. Staff was very kind and attentive they put some avocado instead of cream cheese. However when I got the burger the fries were covered in Parmigiano and the burger had also melted cheese. I think it’s very difficult to eat vegan in Portugal unless you go to vegan friendly places. Ordered some food then asked for a recommendation on a drink. Both were amazing, but I got my coffee within 2 minutes, while the french toast came 10-15 mins after, so I had slowly finished my coffee by then. I was about to leave, thinking there had been some confusion on what I ordered, as the staff was just chatting to eachother at the counter (place was empty).
