Wanted to share our experience from today. Ordered: mixed starters - chicken pakora, veg pakora, prawn pakora, onion bhaaji.... Verdict: Okay. Onion bhajis were overcooked. Some of the pakoras were fine, others were a bit hard. Mango Lassi: very good. Garlic naans: very good. Lamb vindaloo and Baingan Bharta (aubergine). Verdict: good presentation but very poorly done and too much salt. Lamb pieces were hard, too many potatoes in it. Aubergine missing zing. Personally it tasted a bit bland. I think they used the same gravy base in both dishes. I would give it a rating of about 2.9 out of 5. Probably one of the least memorable Indian meals out. Quite disappointed, to say the least. My apologies to any folks who have been impressed by the place... Maybe they were just having an off-day today. The atmosphere is a bit gloomy - dark red walls, not great decor.
We did mention the comments about the food to the lady, but she said that sometimes it’s because of the rush that it happens. I think that’s not acceptable in a restaurant. This is not an assembly line, but food is a work of art.

Read moreI recently visited this Indian restaurant in Leiria, expecting an authentic dining experience. Initially, the place had a charming, genuine Indian ambiance. However, after several visits, a concerning trend emerged. As a brown person, I noticed a stark difference in how I was treated compared to white customers. This differential treatment became more apparent with each visit. The lamb dishes, which I tried multiple times, were average and lacked distinction. Also, there was little interest in taking feedback from me on the food quality.
The only saving grace was one polite Ecuadorian staff member, but that couldn't compensate for the overall disappointing service. This experience has left me hesitant to bring colleagues from my office here, especially when hoping to showcase authentic Indian cuisine. For my craving, I would choose a simple kebab or some other place rather feeling terrible about the...
