Nice place with good service. The waiter was attentive and fast. She gave us all the information needed about what dishes to combine and how the local food culture works. We ordered garlic bread, cod with chickpeas, cod in cream baked in oven and asparagus, plus lemonades. The tastes were not so interesting, but accurate, and it was served with care and attention to details, which made us feel happy even if it the meal wasn't exactly a gastronomic adventure. The location in the square is beautiful, with a view of the castle and friendly vibe. The lemonades were amazing! Sour and refreshing, served with elegance. The waiter asked us to double check the bill to see if everything was correct and it was. Surprisingly cheap though, regarding the fact that it's a nice looking place with quality food in the central square. Just 30 euro to make two people full, content and happy! Definitely worth...
Read moreSuch high expectations of coming here again in this lovely city square with the Leiria castle up on the hills. Just wanted a Super Bock Stout in a jug and was given funny looks...had this here before! Eventually they let me have my Stout pint in this jug and @ €3.10..it's sure is cheap. My Stout pint was perfectly poured and tasted fantastic. The music is pretty funky outside on the square and tables...hence the reason I enjoy being here. I was going to have another Stout pint and dinner but unfortunately I was made to feel so uncomfortable, unwelcomed and not even a smile from any of the staff around...I asked if a smile was due after I paid for my pint, but nothing!! Really disappointed with the staffs attitude and unfriendliness.. Definitely won't be coming back as there are such good and welcoming restaurants and bars abound here in the square and Leiria...
Read moreAmazing food, really good service. We went with our kids at about 8:30pm and they found the film on the TV scary but that's just them, they're only 7 & 10! My husband and I had the steak and it was truly amazing, our kids had pizzas and they loved them. I must say, we were given the pre meal food and took it (we'd been travelling all day and we're really hungry) the bill came and it was about €30 but there was octopus salad, bread, olives, wonderful ham ... We were also up sold on our g&ts which came to €24 for two. Not a cheap place to go, not when we live in central Portugal and are used to the prices here (at Chico lobo two adults and two children, one drink each with the starter food and the main meal was €113, where we live it would be about €60). Still highly...
