Pity I did not take pictures. I was enjoying my lovely delicious warm experience and moment that forgotten to take photos. Well I need to explain for you this restaurant in a way that you get why I gave 5. First of all everything is about our experience! Isn't it?! The location of restaurant is good however for finding close parking place at dinner time you will struggle. Restaurant do not have clear indicator to find it easly which is pity because they may lose some potential customers but those that one time visited them definitely will go back there. I suggest put much eye catching beautiful indicators on the windows of restaurant and remove those papers that are attached! When you enter the place you feel much more an Indian or Pakistani restaurant because of design and style. But,a kind, beautiful, sweet persian lady who is the new owner(when I am writing this, it was just 3 month that she bought the restaurant so she need more time to be evaluated as the new owner and decision maker) is welcoming you, Hanieh! The restaurant has 3 section, interior, balcony, and yard. I believe this separation is because they offer Shisha! Not sure! They have several persian food which big part of their food is animal protein based food such as kebab , but there are some vegetarian food also in the menu which are good choices even for non vegetarian because they are very delicious persian food. They have more traditional food such as fesenjan, I didn't try it but if they make it good I suggest to chose it.the restaurant could be considered as a place that is accessible for disabled people. As a person who knows persian food I can assure you, you will get very good and delicious kebab here. The Chelo which is persian name for cooked rice with some garnish of zafran, is very good. The persian drinks are also good. And if you are persian, you will get an especial friendly homey treatment from Hanieh. They will offer you Tahdig😋, or salad shirazi 😍 For their food quality and portions size, they could charge costumer more. a complete dinner for 4 people become something between 50 to 100 euro, depend your choices. They closes at 11, and they should not make TAROUF to tell costumer that we close at 11.Its normal in portugal that people stay long, and they used to hear when place will be closed so don't hesitate to tell. 😊
(Hanieh, if you are reading this I want you know, it is so lovely to be welcomed by you, and your restaurant with your passion and energy will become very good spot in Lisbon very soon. It need a persian women touch and taste to make it more chic with some more comfortable and beautiful furniture, more arranged, and, better trained staff, and more persian foods in menu! It could attract more customers. Good luck and great success dear) So my last Q&A : Do I go back there? Sure, I will especially if they put a tick golden zafran Tahdig 😉near...
Read moreMarvelous! very delicious food! Nice Space If you are thinking to experience a very good like home made Iranian food this is the place in Lisbon! I tried their food in different seasons even in Covid-19 pandemic, and also in different times since they start the work, it is fantastic that they kept the quality and try to be at the same style! improved and also add different new menus. The environment is friendly, lovely and staffs are very kind! they try to serve you in a nice and well decorated space. The tables decorated like you are in north of Iran, also you can fined some small models of Iranian carpet there in entrance, probably you can buy! They are very good to use as mouse pad. you feel you work on original carpet! Also they can be used as decoration too. The restaurant serves you three different spaces: closed space , which can be seen by street and also nice and close to bar, semi closed space which offers you more private space close to yard and also open space, which let you be in their yard and enjoy the good weather mostly in summer and or in pandemic that you need more ventilation. Although the entrance is not directly to the street and you need to enter by small hall to restaurant, but this is a very accessible space for every one even for who has disabilities, elders and or who has baby stroller, since there is not any stairs to go in and out .it is completely flat. One of the advances of the space is they have a toilet for wheelchair, too. generally it is very accessible by Train , metro and bus and is two minutes walking from the Avenida de Roma and train station. I tried different foods there which I like very much: their Baghalapolo ba Mahiche, Dish of Kababs: contain very diclinous Chenje Kabab (meat), Koobode(meat) Kabab and Jooje(chicken) Kabab; I also try their Mirza-Ghasami ( which is good for vegans. their yogurt and eggplant named Burani Bademjan is very nice. I also like their Zereshkpolo ba Morgh(Rice with zaffaran and some berries and chicken). I like these foods. They taste very good to me and I have to clarify that the portion is very much! if you are going by family try different dishes but take in account the portion :) . they serve a very delicious drink of Zaffaran, try it , you will enjoy. Baghlava and other sweets for dissert are nice too. I think they are home made! Totally I enjoy their restaurant, the atmosphere is cozy and friendly, do not think about luxury space and it is the advantage that let you feel you are in a nice family home! Foods, staffs and space let you experience of being in very good local restaurant in Iran with really delicious taste of Iranian dishes, disserts and tea in western part of the Europe close to Atlantic Ossian. I completely...
Read moreWhile I was super happy to find a Persian restaurant in Lisbon, it just did not cut it. Living in Portugal for a few months, we were missing Persian home cooking and did the 30 min drive to 1001 Nights. The restaurant is in a office building on the 1st floor and decorated minimally. We were greeted immediately by a nice lady who I take as being the owner and seated promptly with no reservation. The 4 of us ordered a mixture of kobedeh and fesinjoon due to the limited availability. For some reason, the owner said no lamb was available from the butcher and hard to find. The kobedeh was average at best and overcooked, but the rice was almost inedible and not Persian rice. The rice was almost to a sushi rice consistency. Persian rice should be long grain and very fluffy, not sticky in clumps. The fesinjoon was inedible and rancid. I had one bite and set it down. I’ve never had something that I could not eat, but this was just disgusting. It was border line rancid and do not recommend this dish at this restaurant. The dish should be made with fresh walnuts, soft chicken, with a sweet taste and ruby color. This was none of that. The star of the show at the restaurant was the baklava of all things. It was crisp, semi sweet and filled with fresh walnuts. Unfortunately we will not be returning and will save our Iranian cooking for home or for future trips to London or LA.
I hope others who have eaten here as their first time trying Persian food not think this is authentic and give an authentic Persian...
