Clara Clara Café — Restaurant in Lisbon

The service is utterly diabolical - there’s always at least 4 staff members on duty and it’s like they’re on acid: slow, weird, disorganised, forgetful, needs two of them to figure out how to take payment of a coffee and a cake… a huge queue of customers wondering what the heck the hold up is about while subjected to dark, hard trance that could only be enjoyed from within a k-hole.

This place could easily be run by two staff who aren’t spaced out on hallucinogenics. They’re a disaster. It takes so long to get served I’ve given up. I no longer bother going there. And I worked in food establishments for years in my youth and the delays here are nothing to do with the number of customers. Even when you’re at the front of the queue it’s like waiting for bloody Christmas.

On the upside, the cakes are good, and the setting in the park with the view is fabulous, hence them getting a generous 3...

We rented an apartment at Campo da Santa Clara, when we saw this charming kiosk in the park. We went for our morning coffee or a quick lunch for several days in a row. Best times of the day! Going for a drink in the late afternoon or evening can be crowded. The small park is used by the locals for get togethers, childs birthdays and walking their dogs. Find a table, order a drink and a small bite at the counter and you're in a different world. Enjoy the buzz of people in the park and make small talk to those at the other tables. We met friendly people only. The guys at the kiosk are the friendliest. And about the prices. These are not to worry about. Locals can afford these too. If you had a nice visit at the kiosk, don't...

So slow...was going there every morning for a while but a pot of tea took 10 mins...a tosta mista took 15 mins. And this is when there was no queue and 3 people working. At peak time, each person in the queue took 5-10 mins just to order so I was waiting for 25 mins just to order. In terms of friendliness, generally the staff are ok but not particularly friendly, and one girl is quite unfriendly and rude. Also lots of flies which are annoying.

I was going there often but not much anymore.

Whoever owns this kiosk, please just teach your staff to be efficient and not talk to each other constantly.
