Coffee is fine. Their priority though, is set wrong. Money driven place that will rip you off for kids size bites and kick you out in an hour if you’re not willing to buy more. We were asked to leave after 1hour 10min inside, having consumed 17€ in one small brew, one slice of cake and a one piece TINY brioche slice with avocado that costed 9€, which is crazy. Not worth it! There are plenty of other nice places in Lisbon to go where you don’t feel like you’re bothering for being there, and you’re happy to consume what they offer.
They also have an upstairs space you supposedly can work, except on holidays and weekends (I came on a holiday so I wasn’t allowed to use my laptop, which is fine, is their rule - and as I was meeting a friend for a portuguese conversation lesson/coffee meeting that wasn’t a problem), but if you do need to work DON’T go there. Or if you’d rather be in a more community driven space.
At 40min in we already had one employee, - with such an unpleasant tone - ask if we were gonna order something (we already had eaten and were talking, no laptops on the table) and at 1hr the other one came again to tell us to leave because they were busy. All the good reviews on the food: is fine, but only rich expats with absolutely no sense of money are happy with it. (ps: I’m happy to pay more for things that...
Read moreDecent coffee but, sorry, laughable sandwiches. 9 EUR for a tiny piece of cheap white sliced bread with minimal topping is not cool. It's a small snack at best, not a meal. I still felt hungry. Another review mentions the same criticism but the response ("oh no, that's not how the toasts should be made, we'll correct it!") seems disingenous as the picture represents exactly how the toasts are. Perhaps clueless tourists accept this but it's not a way to get regulars. Honestly I felt cheated and won't return.
EDIT: Congrats, what you've described in your reply is simply called "running a cafe". It's no doubt a challenging business but when other cafes can offer a satisfying toast for 9 EUR and you can't, then that's completely fair to criticize you for. I didn't use your precious WiFi but that shouldn't cost you more than 20 EUR per month. If your bread is made in-house maybe you should stop bothering and get some high quality bread from Gleba. Sorry but instead of being patronizing and trying to school me on the supposedly incredible multisensory experience you're offering, maybe you should improve your product and not...
Read moreI cannot recommend this spot enough! From the moment the dishes arrived, I was captivated by the presentation and the attention to detail. The cheesecake topped with rich, velvety chocolate (brigadeiro) was an indulgent dream – every bite was pure bliss. The latte was perfectly crafted with a creamy texture and beautiful latte art that set the tone for a luxurious coffee experience.
The toasts were beyond exceptional. One had a delightful mix of creamy ricotta, tangy pomegranate seeds, and roasted vegetables, all perfectly balanced with a drizzle of olive oil. The other, featuring a soft-boiled egg with avocado, fresh cherry tomatoes, and fragrant herb drizzle, was simply divine. Each dish was not only visually stunning but also a flavorful masterpiece.
The care put into each plate, paired with the warm and inviting atmosphere, makes this place a must-visit. Everything exceeded my expectations – five stars all the way! I’ll definitely be back to enjoy this culinary...
