I don’t even know how this hostel is rated so highly, when they say you pay for what you get, this place feels expensive. |this hostel would possibly be one of the worst places I’ve ever visited.|After a day of travelling we arrived at the hostel around 2 pm, walked up the stairs to the 3rd floor because the buildings has three different hostels running ? to find that the reception doesn’t open until 4 pm. So we left walked around had some lunch and came back around 3:45 ish , to our surprise we walked in but still no employees around? No one showed up until around 4:15pm, after showing us our room and giving us a set of three different keys we thought a shower would be nice, having specifically booked the room with private bathroom, we got another room with a shared bathroom, |well the shared bathrooms are horrendous, the shower head is connected to a hose but out of the bath tap and we hadn’t been given towels by this point so when we asked about them they were ALL in the wash so no towels to shower until the next morning. When we woke up around 9 am I went to have my shower after being given a still damp towel, there was no hot water at all. The water was as cold as ice. |All of the locks have a certain trick to opening them and it’s quite difficult, the downstairs door was the hardest, apparently you have to wiggle the key continuously until it decides to open, luckily there were two lovely ladies who had been staying here also who showed us how to do it otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten in. |If I could give this place minus stars I would. It is just disgusting that someone can run this place the way they do. | This place is a big no for me. |I would think very hard about booking this place, we will never...
Read moredecember 2019. Waste of money. Walls and doors are like broken paper. Doesn't block any sounds at all. Also they gave us a room 1 meter from reception and the kitchen area, and our so called "private" bathroom was facing the reception!!! Yes very private!! So you expected me and my family to walk out of our room butt-naked and walk pass the reception to take a shower or to take a s..t next to the OPEN kitchen area full of people??!! Planned to stay for 9 nights, but couldn't sleep at all because of the noise and lack of privacy. Could hear every word, step, breath or fart anyone made. The locks were in terrible condition. The beds were worse than homeless people have. The TV was ok 50 years ago, but now its a piece of trash(20 inches old p.o.s.) We stayed there for less than 24 hours and demanded a refund, but they still charged us for 3 nights and said it was a favor because they don't "have to pay anything back". And btw we had to wait for many hours for the staff to come to work, because you cant even contact anyone by phone.||To the hotel and staff: the problem is your hotel and not the costumers. ||To the others: avoid at all costs! Can find a much better place to stay for the same price!||PS: Breakfast was very poor and you have to wash...
Read moreThe staff are absolutely amazing and will do anything to help giving hints and tips to get the best out of your stay in Lisbon. We stayed in a double room with private bathroom which was completely fine for us a young couple in our 20s. The double room was massive and the private bathroom is seperate to the room however it was only opposite the corridor so didn't cause us any issue. The hostel is up 6 flights of stairs but you soon get use to them every day.
Disliked · Location is a bit far out from the main night life area, this obviously isn't the hostels fault. It is however very easy to get about from the hostel to barrio Alto (main night area) using the metro, ubers or electric bikes... All which are extremely good value for getting...
