An exquisite, quaint and cozy small restaurant with a great selection of delicious food.
Puro sits on a quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes (walking) away from the Marquês do Pombal Plaza.
It's a small and tight space which in turn gives it a rather accomodating and cozy feeling.
Their speciality is the Francesinhas, but i decided to order the Beef steak Argentinian style, pictured below.
300g of tasty, tender, juicy, medium to medium-rare beef steak along with chimichurri sauce (seen on the small white cup), garlic, padrón peppers and cooked corn on the cob.
It's a dashing, nuanced, multi-faceted dish that should keep less experient food connoisseur (such as myself) on their toes for a while.
The french fries (not included with the beef steak) are classical restaurant made fries, being tasty and crispy and came in a relatively good amount considering the price.
The egg was an extra i asked for and was, well, what you would expect from a fried egg.
All in all, i consider this dish a worthy option for any meat lover and the price is adequate considering the quality and quantity of the food.
For dessert i ordered the hefty priced (9€) petit gateau and while it definitely made its presence noted on the tab, it was easily one of the best petit gateau that i ever had.
The chocolate mousse like outer layer gives you a first rush of sweet, creamy goodness that leaves you wide open for the earthy, warm core, filled with hot, creamy, chocolate. Delicious!
Puro Lisboa is a solid choice for a quality dinner and i will be returning to try one of their signature Francesinhas.
*Edit: Went back to try the Francesinha and they outdid themselves, even with a full house, they gave me a stellar service, finding me a table and bringing me the food in record time.
The Francesinha was great.

Read more2 week trip to Portugal/Spain and this was definitely the worst restaurant we experienced. The food was meh at best, the service was a little rude, and the restaurant was WILDLY nickel-dimey. They charged a euro for sauce, over 1 euro for each takeaway container(!), and they even had it listed on their menu that you would be fined/charged extra if they saw you sharing food. Which is super ironic being that's a huge staple of Iberian culture.
It's no surprise we were literally the only ones in there. 0/5 stars.
EDIT The owner's response is all you need to see, and their immaturity, rudeness, and pettiness there is probably a bigger deterrent than anything I could have said. Well done.
PS he's right that every place does charge for containers....but most charged the equivalent of about $0.10 vs. €3.50. Also the only place to charge for sharing....
Read moreThis place, not far from the flight we rented is absolutely amazing! Left there less than 10 minutes ago. We had to order the ribs. So tender, and so flavorful. Impeccable! The service was outstanding. It was clean and we didn't intend to have the francesinha no helmet, but we are sooo glad we did! Delicioso! Finally, we thought we were ready to leave, but our very wonderful waitress offered us a bean cake. We were thinking it would be something typical of the United States, but we decided to try it. Can't express it enough, but I'm so glad to have had this bean cake! It is light and delicate, fresh berries served on the side, a lemon gelato to cleanse the palate and oh so tasty bean curd cake. Out of this world delicious! You must try it! PURO in Lisbon...
